Jorma visits Ray at Jitlada
Foto by Vanessa Lillian
So I’m checking my blog the other day and there was a comment from one Ray Gallo. He’s into the music and of course I dug that… but there was more. I’ve been hanging out in Japan Town for the last week and he mentioned that he and is wife have a little Thai restaurant, Jitlada, up on Buchanan Street. Now it is true that a man’s gotta eat… but there’s more than that. A man’s gotta eat good food… and this was some of the best I’ve ever had!!!!! I kid you not. Click on the Jitlada link above and check out the menu. I’ve had a lot of Thai food… and I love it, obviously… but this topped it all. These are not hyperbolic superlatives, it really is the best. It’s right above the walking street part of Buchanan on the East side of the street.
I can’t say enough about this… you gotta go… and tell them Jorma sent you!
Going home tomorrow… glad my last dinner in San Francisco was at Jitlada!
Much thanks, again Jorma…..You da man!
Thanks for the tip.. love Thai food and will try it the next time I’m in S.F.
I live 14 blocks away and didn’t know about this place. I recognize the chef from the audience at the Sweetwater show though. I will definitely check it out and tell them you sent me. Thanks!

Remembering our first kiss.
I was 12, at a party in North Carolina on NYE, my Aunt Mary (currently 94 and living in Reno) had slapped some aftershave on my cheeks, Whole Lotta Love had just been released and was playing in the the background, and this girl named Phaedra, long flowing light brown hair, 15,16 years or so, grabbed me and kissed me(!) as the new year struck.
I played it cool, kissed her back, acting like I’d been there before, but man, were my knees a’knockin.

It’s your turn, buck up! 🙂
I bet he was surprised to see you walk in the door – I would be. Glad you had a good time and some great food. I’m sure your glad to be going home – just stay warm brother – it’s gonna be freezing.
I love Thai food and will check out Jitlada’s next time in town. Thanks Jorma see you back at the ranch.
You won’t go wrong Gene…
Now THAT’S an endorsement.
Always nice to hear about a great restaurant. I visit SF every December and will put it on my schedule to check out.
Do you think you might do a special post some time on SF restaurants? Whether for great food, fond memories, or whatever.
