A night at the Keswick was a fine way for us to end this little run, and the last Tuna show of the 2016. Then it was time for Jack and Justin to head to their respective homes and I wandered down to Richmond, Virginia and the Tin Pan.

A new venue for me... liked it!

Real nice folks...

A good time at the Winery as always. Rain an traffic today on the way to Boston. Tomorrow I’ll be with Tedeschi/Trucks at the Orpheum and I’m really looking forward to it!
I attended my first event at The Hamilton in DC and my first Hot Tuna show (despite being almost age 64 – just couldn’t schedule it before). Had a great table only 40 feet from the stage, a good meal, and a marvelous time visiting with Jorma and Jack for the first time after all these years. Shalom, brother, and my best wishes to you and yours for a safe and happy holiday season.
King of phone typos 🙂
@johno
Considering Carey is from Tejas, a oretty good guy. Damn johno, despite politics, wgen would be have opportunity to yack for hours, days. Hallelujah, Cracks in the finish
Right across the valley(Rt 28) are the High Catskills including Slide Mountain – 4201 feet high. I’ve climbed it several times. What a sight from its peak. You can see 5 states from its summit. Spent many a summer and winter day hanging out and skiing those old, fabled hills.
@carey georgas
Great show in Richmond Jorma! We love you down here in the south too! I’ve been seeing you for nearly 40 years and you’re sounding as good as ever! Your Signature Model Martins sound great! Come back baby!
Feel So Good! Jorma is for sure a King, but Jessica Diggins is now a Queen of the USA. She won today the ski cross-country 5 km individual ladies in Lillehammer, Norway. It is winter sport time, ski & speedskating, Ask and Embla, -Hamar Promenade! :-)Snarne
Have a great show at the Barn tonight…wishing I was there…
Thank you for all you do…
🙂
Hi, Jorma
Regarding your dinner at The Hamilton and gig there the next night …
You are such an esteemed musician, that when you “sing for your supper,” you get the supper first. Very nice!
Yes, a very beautiful and peaceful place. I went to the Zen Mountain monastery once while I was there, and the beauty of its setting and surroundings was a joy. Also hiked the mountain up by that other monastery right out of town. January, in a couple of feet of snow. Climbed the fire tower on top. Talk about breathtaking (pun partially intended)!@johno
I’ve been to the Barn as well – quite a place. So I take it you’ve been to Woodstock also. I just love it up there.
@Carey Georgas
Caught the show at the Hamilton–first time there, and what a great venue. Almost 40 years to the day when I first caught Hot Tuna at Franklin Pierce College (11/22/76). Of course, in those days. . . .
The show was just outstanding, and our second row table seats right in front of Captain Kaukonen were splendid indeed. And two great sets. Thanks boys for the rocking evening.
It’s made of timbers and bluestone.
Yes. I’ve been to The Barn.@johno
Carey did you know that the Catskills are full of bluestone.
@carey georgas
Hey Jorma, I will definitely be there in spirit at The Barn tonight. Here’s hoping you shiver the timbers, and make those blue stones cry out!!!
Had an amazing time tuesday night at the Winery ..Jorma was as always just phenomenal !
Loved the set list & the entire night was a joy from start to finish ..Thank you Jorma !!My Brother & i couldn’t have had a better night ..Happy & a healthy holiday season to you and your family .Peace to all the great people here as well .One love !!
@Mark K
Yes-it tends to become a real Flo Max moment!!!!
Great time at your Hamilton show! Always good to hear you and Jack in DC.
Took a road trip to the Keswick for Hot Tuna with my Honey, my two favorite things in life. The show was great, they always seem to rise to the occasion there and a good time was had by all. Have been doing this now for almost 47 years but have noticed one thing- the line at the men’s room gets longer and longer every year- Oh yeah all the men are over 50 with bad Prostates.
Always love my trips to FPR but it was also a treat to catch the Captain 10 minutes from my house here in Richmond. Blessings come in many forms…great family, great friends, my awesome beautiful daughter, and the magic of music. I have been fortunate to see Jorma (solo and with Hot Tuna – acoustic & electric) countless times over the years. Sunday’s show at The Tin Pan in Richmond was an outstanding show and another masterful performance. Thank you!
Good lord the setlists! What a tour!
Thanks, Jorma, for the rousing “I Wish You Would” at the Beacon, and elsewhere on this tour.
Great show on your home turf in DC for sure. The sound was just great at The Hamilton. Keep on keepin’ on Jorma and Jack and keep on truckin’ while you’re at it!!!
Two Jormas?? Worldwide there is only ONE Jorma !
