The Stacks at night...
Foto by Phil Jacobs
Winter was upon us as we pulled into Bethlehem. I was going to say I was looking for the other two wise men, but the Trio won’t be back until next year. This has been a long run but an extremely good one. I felt good about all the performances and I am blessed that I still have the capacity to do this. Life is good!

Stacks, behind the stage at sound check
Jack and I played the Musikfest Café a couple of years ago when it was new. It was fun then, but the folks have really dialed the sound in now, and I had a fine solo time!

Boy, you can't make this stuff up!

It’s been a while since steel came out of these stacks… but look what they’re doing with them today? Awesome!

On the road, every moment of each day is geared to maintaining my level of performance an translating that into the reality I enjoy on show nights. Here at home… it’s quite a different story. The guitar now fits in around family time and that is indeed as it should be.
It’s great to be home!

Good night Mrs. Calabash, wherever you are!

The best part of catalog were the soldiers:
Probably had 2-3 iterations of “Fort Apache”& managed to aggregate enough of the civil war sets to stage reenactment of Antietam
“Thanks for the memories”
Hi Jorma
Will you be doing shows at McCabes in Santa Monica this February?
Thank you
Sad to say Richard, unless something changes… it doesn’t look that way.

Most certainly for me this year, seeing Jorma and Jack at the Old Town School of Folk Music was a highlight.
On a side note, I bought the Sears 1965 Christmas Catalogue for a decoration and upcoming object lesson on E-bay the other day. With shipping, I paid about $50.00.
Talk about a trip down memory lane! You could pick up a Roy Roger Guitar, (29″ guitar with wood fiber sound chamber for a deep, rich tone), for $3.49
They sold one doll that was simply entitled, “Spank me, I cry.” When you turn the doll around they actually had a spot marked for the wallop. this is just me thinking, but I don’t think that would fly now a days.
Waiting for the Sears Christmas catalogue to come after Thanksgiving each year was a highlight of the season. “Mom, did the catalogue come today?” was a daily question when we came home from school. If only I had studied “Reading, Writing and Arithmetic” like I did the toy section of that catalogue.
And they say confession is good for the soul, so I must admit I took a gander at the woman’s under ware section.
…And around the corner from Nazareth, where baby Martins are born. Holiday vibes to all!
Glad you made it home in one piece. Hope you enjoyed the new puppy and had nice anniversary.
I would say you sprinted across the finish line, with an amazing 29 song set. Thanks again for an awesome evening. See ya soon.
Whoa what a backdrop.
Thanks for another great year-great shows, great times, truly a Festivus Miracle-see you in 17
