Happy campers, pickin' and grinnin'
Another fabulous Fur Peace Ranch On The Road has come to an end and it is time for us all to return to our ‘normal’ lives… whatever that means.

A last look at Molokai and a search for whales...
Yep, this was a dandy alright. Vanessa and Izze and Montana flew back yesterday. True, it is still winter in Ohio, but home and our animals are there!

Pickers and family support...

Time for me to close up my bags and head for San Diego where I will meet Jack Casady as well as Phil and Myron. Our first gig will be at the Belly Up in Solana Beach.

If I have to see one more beautiful sunset...
Yep, it’s been great… but I gotta be movin’ along…
More will be revealed!
Hope ya’ll took along your hip waders!
a I gave a pre-Valentine gift to my dear husband of 33 years: to see you and Jack perform at the Belly Up on the 13th. What a great show! We were filled with warm memories and love as you played our favorite song, Genesis. Thank you for sweetening the night with that as your encore.
Jack & Jorma put out a great show @ the Lobero.
It’s great to see them interact.
First set was a good warm-up
Second set they brought it up a couple notches.
I had some trouble getting out of SB for SF. Amtrak got cancelled.
Had to bus it to SLO.
Looks like I’m gonna make it to The Fillmore!
Lets not mince words here…a THOUSAND burning suns wouldn’t stop me from attending a Hot Tuna Concert anywhere near me. Sure, there’s a chance my Tuna “Hoppkorv ’76 Tour” bicep tattoo would fade from the UV rays, but that’s a small price to pay for sure. We’re done here.
Seems there is no real disparity among Tuna fans, and we all find our way here eventually.
Thanks James , I live in Moorpark so i couldn’t get through on the 101. The roads through Ojai were backed up too. Bad night to drive. I’ll have to wait till next year to see Tuna.
You ain’t gonna slip away so easy Leon. Back when the music had grit (like Jorma):

The Santa Barbara show was GREAT! Jack had some exceptional moments and the crowd roared in response every time! Tough weather conditions. It rained HARD all day. Glad I didn’t have to drive too far. Trees coming down all over the place. The Lobero Theater is a great venue. I hope they “come back baby” soon!
I had tickets for the Santa Barbara show but could not get there due to the mudslide on the 101. Really disappointed to miss it. How was the show?
Heavy weather in Jorma’s playing zone…
@johno
Just glad you didn’t call Phil a whistlepig.
@johno
Hell, the robins never even made it this far south. Haven’t seen one all winter. Now, the azaleas are blooming, fish are spawning, it’s like spring is 6 weeks early.
I just saw my first robin red breast of the season on my snow covered deck out my back door – can Spring be far behind? I think the woodchuck was wrong.
if you have a membership, this is a great playlist.

Talking about consciousness, New Paltz my alma mater. It was a portal of psychedelia during the 60’s and 70’s. Many a good trip and good times were had at and around the school and the surrounding Catskill mountains, woods and lakes. Some weekend nites we’d take trips to Woodstock, NY. Some of the best times of my life were up there.
Awesome trip Jorma – love those pics – next time you’ll have to bring that drone on tour and see the sites from above – we have about 15 inches of snow here in New Paltz, plenty of shovelin’. working on Blind Arthur’s Breakdown, Blake’s stream of consciousness – Happy V day to you and Vanessa and Izzie – Jim
Safe travels Jorma – sorry I’ll be missing you this time around, family obligations you know.
Jorma, Thanks for booking those Merlefest dates! Really looking forward to them!
very much looking forward to seeing you, Jack and Myron next week. I always enjoy mixing Hot Tuna shows.
Safe travels to calif..
I’m usually awake, but can’t see the horizon for the trees. Jorma, you captured some beauts this time. I like this one with the sun setting in an apparently clear sky. There’s something about those radiating rays that makes it look like it’s saying aloha. Peace, and safe travels.
Can never see too many sunsets…they are so majestic. Love sunrises…they are so spiritual. Too bad many of us are sleeping when the sun rises.
Wish I could be at the Electric Fillmore show. I know some people who are going…
I’m thinking at least part of this 206% of normal precip in the Western Sierra was related to the butterfly effect sent to us by FPR/Hawaiian edition.
It’s a dirty job, Jorma, but someone’s gotta do it.
