After the show we started driving to Alexandria for our gig at the Birchmere in Alexandria tomorrow. It’s been a couple of years since we’ve been to this old haunt, and we’re looking forward to it. I had a lovely dinner with my son Zach night, and tomorrow is another day.
Here’s a picture of moondown at the Fur Peace Ranch this morning.

Onward…
The Tabernacle,Mt Tabor, NJ on Thanksgiving weekend was truly double the fun!! 2 nights and crowd sing a long lol Thank you , for a real good time!
Will Hot Tuna be back in ’18?
@rich l
Thanks! awesome@Andy K
Great to see you and Jack C. at The Birchmere last weekend. I had only seen you previously, solo, at Desperados in Georgetown back in the ’80s. I’ve read that you played with Danny Gatton even further back; love to hear more about that. One last thing: My Dad was also in the Foreign Service and our first posting was Oslo (1956-59). I was very young (b. 1953) but I still remember the Viking and Kon-Tiki museums. Also the Varma polse (sp?). Hope to see you play an electric show!
Paul
WOW. 2 nights of great music. Last night the Capitol and tonight the Paramount. It just gets better and better. Tonight there were stretches of jams with Steve Kimock that were sublime…Good Shepherd was just beautiful. Thanks for coming back to Huntington!
@Andy K
Thanks for the link. Tried watching live but my browser wouldn’t support the broadcast.
Great web cast Jorma.
Walkin’ Blues always one off my faves.
Awesome set list all around.
As much as I love just hearing you & Jack more than anything, Steve really brings out a different, psychedelic feel with you guys.
Good Shepherd was just incredible.
Thank you
Thanks for the webcast on you tubes relix channel last night. Awesome show with some fine camera work.
Here I was all bummed out with the Dead and Company show in Ft. Lauderdale postponed last night, when I saw the tweet on the stream from the Capitol. Thanks Captain, as always a treat

Awesome show last night in Port Chester.
And THANK YOU SO MUCH for playing Walkin’ Blues!
First time in many, many years and an absolutely stellar version.
Hesitation Blues was another gem at the Capitol Theatre.
Great show last night at the Cap Jorma. The band has never sounded better !
Rock Them All United Tonight Jorma.
Winner 29.
Very nice indeed
Listen for me on the Port Chester broadcast. I’ll be the only one clapping in time with the band.
Peace
Love All Ways
@carey georgas
Happy Anniversary Jorma and Vanessa !! My Birthday 12/7.. See you tomorrow night !!
Hey Jorma – Happy Anniversary to you and Vanessa!! – you’ve got me beat by 2 years – looking forward to tonight at the Capitol! –
Fishermen out on the jetties. A nice calm scene out there.
Jorma, I don’t know if you found the Main Street Crossing in Tomball, or if they found you. Either way, it’s so cool that you’re making your living and at the same time helping a non-profit extend its ministry. I’ve never heard of the place, but after reviewing their webpage, I’m impressed, both with their vision and your ability to help others whenever the opportunity presents. Kudos, and I just can’t hardly wait ’til you come around.
@johno
Yep, I’m headed to Port Chester tonight to get my Electric dose.
Actually a Double Dose, as I also caught a couple of the acoustic City Winery shows.
Branches lined up against the winter snow…..
FYI. Jerry’s mural is on the outside wall of the building for anyone interested….you can just drive by…it’s a treat!
@Andy K
Thanks for the link! Can’t wait for tomorrow. Gonna snow all day. Gonna be slow sledding to Huntington village to see Electric Hot Tuna. Should be beautiful.
@carey georgas
Happy for you Carey.
And you can also see tonight’s Electric show w/ Steve Kimock.
See link above.
@carey georgas Yahoo! Happy for you…..February will come quick. Tonight I go 2 hours to Portchester for an annual Hot Tuna show with friends from New Jersey, and tomorrow I welcome Tuna back to Huntington….right in my village! So excited! Jorma-do you need any recommendations for dinner??!! We have many great choices. And for a spiritual GD moment, if you drive 1/2 mile – 1 mile north on New York avenue from the paramount, you’ll see a beautiful mural of Jerry G. on the wall of a little breakfast/ lunch place called Stella Blue….
@carey georgas
Jorma is going to Texas! An early Christmas present for you.
Thank you, thank you, thank you Susan! Texas is big, but it ain’t that big. Thanks to your distant early warning, I just got a holt of two of what they call “the best 12 seats in the house” at the venue in Tomball, right at a two hour drive from the house!
@carey georgas
I see some Jorma shows in Texas listed today…..Texas is a BIG state ,but I’m hoping that they’re close enough to your neighborhood!
Cant wait for the show on LI at the Paramount..Taking my friend who has not seen Jorma and Jack since 1970..it was with the Airplane..He missed a lot of great shows through the years but he will be in for a real treat seeing the guys again..I have told him they are as good if not better with time..He is very excited..Me too…
Attention fans…..

@Brian OConnor
Great setlists this tour – a lot of Jorma songs like Wolves & Lambs and In My Dreams plus a lot of classics. It’s true, my wife always asks me if it’s Acoustic or Electric. She likes Acoustic shows. Electric shows hurt her delicate ears. I love Electric shows.
Super moon!
Great show in Cohoes as always! My wife has now been to 11 shows and even asks if its acoustic or electric. Thanks for doing what you do! Too much joy and comfort to fit in a small space. God bless merry Christmas to you and your family.
Incredibly diverse set lists here Jorma.
Keep on….you know.
I have to agree Ben…Just a fine evening amazing Acoustic Hot Tuna Music. Jorma and Jack brought their “A-game” and the set list speaks for itself. Thanks Jorma & Jack (Myron & Phil too)…Happy Holidays !!
Fur Peace chewing gum might bring us to merch table, as air gets stale in some joints.
Also, how about “Dead Man” banter to garner interest?
Jack: “Do you have any tobacco?”
Jorma: “I don’t smoke.”
Jack: “Damn.”
I don’t have a blog, so poaching yours; Houses down the street from Cohoes theater were destroyed by fire Saturday. I believe accidental arsonist was scorched, but not too badly. I left burn unit year ago today after a 2 week stay. Held breath and go out, with no other injured parties. Fire and carelessness don’t mix. Familiar face of EMT was woman from rooms. She knew what to do and say. Thank God for small favors.
My recovery includes fun and healing at shows. Rawlings and Tuna in same week! I was at your Fairfield show when, in middle of Good Shepherd, Jack apparently elicited an orgasm from chick in audience. It was good for me, too.
My two cents… The Wilber show was exceptional! All around wonderful show. The second set was like butter. The first set probably was too but it all clicked for me in the second set. What a treat. Thanks Capt.
