That wise old bird...

Back on the mainland for a week now. I landed in San Diego and our first gig was at the Belly Up.

Then up to Santa Barbara to the Lobero.

What traffic?

What traffic?

California traffic in this part of the state is relentless…

We took a break from the traffic and stopped for some seafood in Malibu… then on to Santa Barbara and the rains came.

I had my first Japanese food here on Buchanan street in the 60’s when there was still traffic on it. Still lovely!

best show at belly up – I never write online but I’m gettin’ bold in my middle old age!!!!! I was kinda the only girl at the show? what a treat 🙂 I got some good taste in music at a young age cuz of you two!!!! started playin the guitar at age 10 after hearing your music and the bluez and it didn’t hurt much that you two were cute – never got into the popular bands because I had to be cool like u…. just needed to say that i luv’d hearing you both at belly up and actually seeing you, my musical heroes, live!!! – I now remember why I dug you guys so much at a young age – I “gots” the good taste!!!!! took my son with me to belly up – we couldn’t believe the killer tunes and geez all my good memories that came runnin’ back to me that nite – toooo good!!!! dam! that hot tuna is hot!!!! jorma and jack forever (from my 10 yr old self 🙂 I see the light………..)

They have some tall elephants down in San Diego to lean on. A spectacular phantasmagoria of sounds, colors and lights come shining through those rich set lists. Beautiful to see Jeff and beautiful to just know Justin joined in. Peace be the journey all the way Jorma!

Damn the Lobero looks like a killer room for sure!!!! Where is Roads and Roads & from the sound check last year?! Was sure wishing that would pop up….Jorma would love to hear more about Jack’s time in the Channel Isles and what inspires him to spend time there. Oddly enough I believe Noel Redding made him home on the Isle of Wight for many years before he left us….not nosey just a wonderin’……

You made it. You guys always make it. Thank God.
The Lobero show was a homecoming of sorts for me as I lived in SB for 20yrs.
All the time I lived there, Hot Tuna never played. Closest was the Ventura Theatre, which of course I never missed. In addition to my old friends who live there, there were also a plethora of people with whom I shared parts of my life with while living this most beautiful city.
Thank you for taking a moment to talk as you were arriving at the Lobero.
My buddy Chip & I were biding time waiting for you to arrive by visiting the Santa Barbara museum around the corner, where on display is the oldest known Martin Guitar. 1868.
I found an open seat in the front row, say there for a while, called for “Party Song”, only to get a disdainful head shake from you, of course. All in Good fun.
    Great show Jorma.
At least 3 of my friends there were HT virgins. I lo’ve introducing folks to you guys. It’s part of my mission, along with performing your music when I’m lucky enough to do so.
    I made it to SF.
    Rock us hard tonight Jorma.

That was quite a rain.. We live in Ventura and barely made it to the lobero before they closed the 101. Was well worth the trip. You guys definitely made for a very enjoyable evening.. And I’m glad we made the trip. Eating ramen at hinodeya on Buchanan . Looking forward to you guys rocking the Fillmore tonight
