I remember that Barry Mitterhoff played the Paramount during the Guitarbeque in ’05. As always we stayed across the street at the Berkeley. I think it’s haunted… just saying. After show we drove to Portchester, New York. The Capitol Theater has been a treat for us for almost half a century!

It’s official The Cars, The Moody Blues and Dire Straits all made it into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame class of 2018. When Hot Tuna took a respite in 1980, I started following The Cars and got to know the band, especially Ben Orr and Rick Ocasek. They were so nice to me and both of them liked Hot Tuna and JA. I am so happy they were finally inducted into the HOF. Congratulations to all those inducted this year. As I said before, Hot Tuna – The best band of all time – also belongs there as well. Start tweeting.
There’s no better Christmas for an independent semidetached heavily and heavenly dependent on Jorma, than a freshly picked NY City Winery Concert headlining HOT TUNA ACOUSTIC DUO. The Cap show in Port Chester was great. The sound was loud and clear in the 12th row. No hassles, laid back and rocking. A darn good light show and a good vibe in that place. Steve Kimock fit in very nicely, an excellent guest. Perhaps more of him with HT in the future? Happy Holidays

Asbury Park show was awesome Sound was great and with Kimock Tuna rocked. As an added bonus Barry M and Falz played across the street at The Wonder Bar Pre and post show so that was cool too. Especially since I didnt know about it and just wandered in.
The first snowfall of the winter fell on Huntington the day Hot Tuna came to town. From I See The Light to Water Song the setlist was amazing. I really enjoyed the way you mixed it up playing Hot Tuna standards like Candy Man and Been So Long to Jorma songs like Roads & Roads and Wolves and Lambs to JA standards Trial By Fire and Good Shepherd this was one of my favorite shows in quite awhile. Thanks for playing my favorite HT song Sea Child.
Steve Kimock was a perfect accompaniment to the boyz. The show was an early Christmas present from my wife. Wishing you a Happy Hannukah and a Happy and Healthy New Year!
Got to see a terrific acoustic show in Boston last week, but damn I’m envious of those electric shows.
The Jorma Christmas CD arrived last week. A perfect addition to my Merry Jazz Men CD. I love sitting in my chair listening to good Christmas music and looking at the Christmas tree and Dicken’s Village – the story of Scrooge never gets old!
Downhill Sleigh Ride is one you should add to your repertoire! Good stuff. The Christmas Rule is a clever one also – people, no fires in the fireplace on Christmas eve! It will lead to a pissed off Santa and wife.
Baby Boy is one you sing along with for sure – “He came from the glory, he came from the glorious kingdom…” – who wrote that song? It reminded me of some Ry Cooder songs on the album “Paradise and Lunch” where he has the deep baritone and other great voices singing behind him.
A outstanding version of Silent Night, again with beautiful background vocals. Great guitar work.
My favorite song on the CD was Journey of the Three Wise Men. I could actually envision them travelling over hill and valley, in day and night, as the song played. An absolutely exquisite piece of music. Who is on the keys on that song?
WXRT in Chicago plays Christmas music for 24 hours straight on Christmas day. They play none of the songs that you hear on the regular radio rotation during the season. Your song of the Three Wise Men is a classic example of the type of songs they play. If I had heard it, I would not have known it was you. Eerie – mystical – ethereal. I might shoot one of the dJ’s there a note on that song – it is gold, frankincense and myrrh all wrapped together.
A close second on the album was the last song, Holiday Segue. You nailed that one! “He’s making a list, checking it twice, gonna find out who’s…”
I remember reading that this CD was very good awhile back. I most certainly was not disappointed.

Just great to see you at the Capitol. Last time there for me was 1989 for you with Peter, Joe Stefko and Lenny Underwood. Love what they have done with the place and so much more intimate than the Beacon. A great time to see you boys and re-connect with friends and family past. Tickets in hand as we speak for Annapolis in March. I believe this was my roughly 40th Tuna show since you re-grouped in 83. Damn Navy got in the way for 5 years. I do what I can.
