Dear Jorma,
I convinced my VW club buddies to come to the show tomorrow July, 31 while we are on our annual two week cruise to Colorado to escape the Nebraska heat! See photo. I was in Jack’s class at Fur Peace in March 2015.
Love to request 99 year blues
Best Regards

Rock Them High Tonight Jorma!
And run it off…
Do you think Jack can eat a 72 oz. Steak?
Just wanted to also leave my condolences to Ronnie, Harvey and Ira.
Well Jorma I think I have seen it all. Today’s New York Times crossword puzzle Clue 64. Across
Clue: Blues Rock group that grew out of Jefferson Airplane. Answer HOT TUNA (the F is silent).
Beats the hell outta “box of chocolates”, don’t it?@Joey Hudoklin
@Jerry Bayha
I love that old saying
Nice. Summer rain. These sets must be rocking. Electric Tuna at dinnertime outside with a big sound system. And then TTB into the night!
I’ll take a live of Burgers and phosphorescent rat .
I’ll send you my vinyl of Americas choice.
Jorma,
The Steak House pic brings back memories of our monumental 6,000+ mile Route 66 motorcycle trip, mounted of course on our trusty Harleys, in 2003, when we ate here (but did not indulge in the 72oz challenge) and stayed at the motel next door. It seems hard to believe that it’s been 14 years since we took that trip Brother, but it does seem that time really does fly, seemingly faster the older we get. I’m reminded of an old saying that goes something like this: “….life is like a roll of toilet paper, the closer we get to the end, the faster it goes….” Safe travels for the rest of this tour…..looking forward to getting in some rides with you when you return. Later gator, Jerry Bayha
Nice to see a bit of a shakeup in the (short) setlist.
“Wolves and Lambs” and “Roads…” are a VERY welcome addition
to the rotation.
Jorma, have you and Jack thought about doing full albums in concert?
Imagine 2 sets….”The full ‘Burgers” album…setbreak, then “the full
“Americas Choice” album.
acoustic/electric sets.
Ah, yes, the Big Texan Steak Ranch. It’s about a 500 mi. drive from the house, so I don’t get by there often, but it’s worth a stop just to see that big hunk of sirloin that is the challenge. The prize? Eat it all in an hour, the meal is free. Not just the meat, mind you, but you gotta clean your plate of all sides and the meat. If you don’t finish, you owe them $72, but they’ll let you take the leftovers home. No place but Texas!
The picture of the guy taking the 72 ounce challenge reminded me of the classic movie, Master of Disguise. Although Rotten Tomatoes called it possibly the worst movie made in the 2000’s era, my son and I laugh harder every time we watch it.
There is a scene in the movie where Pistachio, (Dana Garvey), is waiting on a man from Texas. The guy inquires, “Do you have any man size meatballs” Of course, Pistachio imitates him and all hell breaks loose.
Become another person, become another person…
Opening up a set with Sea Child is setting the bar high. I remember some years ago at the Beacon you guys started off with it.
With a short set, go fur it!
But, what do I know?
Hoping that some of this tour will see the light of day in a release or two!
