To say it was hot in Virginia Beach yesterday would be an understatement. That said, we had a day off, a chance to go to the beach and a barbecue in the parking lot of the hotel. At the gig, Ross and I both got to fly our drones.

Jack and I got to sit in with Derek and Susan for a blistering The Sky Is Crying… Too much fun! After show we drove to Raleigh and actually had a day off, most of which was spent napping. However, I remembered a joint I once ate at with Barry Mitterhoff… Mecca… and there it was around the corner from the hotel.

Tomorrow is our gig with Susan and Derek at the Red Hat Amphitheater. Who knows what magic will occur?

    Myron is the man!

He has gone out of his way for me and many others just like me.

I have been a fan for some time. He is not just an outstanding tech, but an amazing musician and a friendly guy. I look forward to seeing the crew soon.! Journey well!…DennisK

    Hi Jorma,
Wanted to reach out and share some thoughts. Coming up on a big bday and doing some reflecting. As I look back on my life experiences, you, Jack and your music is woven through so much of it. Just wanted to say thanks for enriching so many of them!

Hi Jorma, this is difficult to get right I’ll try my best. After years I found Erik Rothwell, my childhood friend on FB. He has had a troubled life neglected by adoption homelessness and aimlessly trying to make it. He has been playing guitar following your example online lessons. You wrote to him once and he treasures that note. We grew up together and played hard as kids but his life quickly spun out as teenagers. I am so happy he has found music, he drives cab and barely makes ends meet. I’m requesting if you see to it to provide tickets or one ticket to your Dec. 9th show in our old hometown Huntington at the Paramount- I will pay for his round trip airfares home. He has a studio apartment in Clearwater FL and the cab company he works for let’s him use the vehicle. You answered a question in a note, he treasures that. Carolyn Clarke much appreciated

WOW!!! An incredible show last night in Virginia Beach from start to finish. It was a bit toasty…temp topped out at 100 degrees on my way to the show from Richmond. And then it was an even hotter H F’in’ T to open the festivities. Y’all were smokin’ last night…a super set. You and Jack were on it…great solos and interplay! And holy cow the sit-in with TTB on “The Sky is Crying” was one for the ages! I glanced over at Myron in the wings during your solo and he had a huge grin. I’m not sure how it’s even possible but you guys and TTB just keep getting better and better every time I see y’all. Thank you, the Wood Brothers, and TTB for soul stirring night of music magic.
