From Grass Valley to Grants Pass
On the way up to Grants Pass we passed the Oroville Dam… I can see why the evacuated the town. Uneventful for us though… and then we were at the Rogue Theater.

The good old Rogue...

Then… beating feet for home!

Jorma and Myron... exit row!
Tomorrow I head on over to Charleston, West Virginia to play with Tedeschi/Trucks at the Charleston Municipal Auditorium. Looking forward to this as always.
Onward!
Just got my prospect hall tic, but all I have is a pay pal receipt. Drive eighty miles and “Beg, steal or borrow”, I guess to get in. Oh… I will be at At. George, but I prefer to buy at the door.
Just read in the Houston Chronicle that Willie is playing the livestock and rodeo this year. He’s also releasing a new album the day before his 84th birthday, April 29. Another attestation to the power of doing what you love.
@Joey Hudoklin
ditto
@Richard
I’d be there in a heartbeat, but…3,000 miles away.
New York will show
OK a show of hands. How many people going to the Prospect Hall show in Brooklyn and also St. George Theater show the next night in Staten Island. LOL Also come on people plenty of seats left at the St. George. Lets buy them up and show the boys how much we love them. Also good children’s charity cause at the Prospect Hall show. And no I don’t work for the band..
@carey georgas
Great comment. You are absolutely right about Jack and Jorma. From someone who’s been following them since 1973 – your words are spot on. They are more than friends – they are a cosmic force in the universe. So glad I’m in their orbit.
See you in Brooklyn.
Short story, when I was a little boy my parents took me to Christmas parties in Prospect Hall. My grandparents lived in Brooklyn. Great little hall – you guys are going to rock the chandeliers and blow the roof off the joint. Can’t wait!
Cool. A nice little tour of the PNW.
A lifetime doing what you love. What better way to spend one? The fountain of youth wells up from within, no? Hope we all still jumpin’ (at least metaphorically) when we’re 90! Yours and Jack’s friendship/careers are most inspiring.
So excited for the start of FPR 2017 but too excited to wait…so I’m coming to Charleston to see you and the Tedeschi Trucks Band tonight!!! I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…I hope Police Dog Blues makes a comeback…I’m really glad to see that you’re revisiting some of your older material, hopefully I’ll hear some tonight 😉
Hopefully we’ll bump into each other, but otherwise, I’ll talk to you in March…stay well, and keep on truckin!
Hey Jorma,
Like everyone else said, “WOW”…haven’t heard Wolves and Lambs since the old ovation days…brings back some old memories. Hope you plan on breaking that out when you hit the East Coast in April.
Great picture by the way…:-)
Hope to be seeing you guys soon.
Safe Travels
Hogan
🙂
WOW – rockin out in Spokane!
DO MY EYES DECIEVE ME? LOL!!
“When you’re lying awake
Feel you’re body shake
C’mon girl
don’t let your spirit(?) break
When the life your in
Is more than you can take
Got to once more look away
If living for today
Don’t satisfy your sensual(?) pleasures
Once more look away
And follow with your heart
As the waves come crashing…miles apart”
Not sure I’ve got all the lyrics right, but it doesn’t stop me from singing that great, great song.
Wolves and Lambs….can Hamar Promenade be far behind?!
Wolves & Lambs? Wow. Hope you keep that in the setlist for a while Jorma! I heard that at the Paradise in Boston once in ’79 and never since…love that record…here’s to hearing more of it again.
Never heard Wolves & Lambs live.
As if I need an excuse to go to more shows
great shows in Spokane wa thanks for that……. you all come back now
damn!….32 song set in Spokane….AND the return of “Wolves n’ Lambs”
Jorma, your ’79 solo record has some of the best songs you ever wrote.
“Roads n Roads”…”Valley of Tears”…”Song for the high mountain”
is there ANY chance you and Jackson could bring “Da-Ga Da-Ga” back into the rotation?
Looking Forward to you guys in Staten Island, on my Birthday too! There is a good Vietnamese Restaurant Pho Mac on Richmond Ave about 15 minutes from the Theatre
Nothing slowing you down Capt.
Thanks for the report, Jorma! Sounds like a good trip north. Welcome home.
