Friday night we had our first Pho Peace Dinner since February… and it was awesome if I do say so myself. The food was excellent, John picked a gaggle of great songs for me to accompany him on, and it was a great evening in all respects. Saturday night as we were driving home from town, Nessa snapped this picture coming up the driveway.

There have been a couple of great sunsets I got some shots of.

Yep, it’s been pretty pastoral around here over the last week. Today being Sunday and all, I drove down to the river and I got to watch one of the longest strings of coal barges I’ve seen in a long time. Three wide and five long… that’s a big string!

Lot of horsepower on one of these push boats!

Well, I’ve got a gig in Bucks County, PA next week and then I’ll be recording the narrative for my book. It’s an intimidating project, but I’m sure it will work out. For now, I think I’ll hit the sack. Tomorrow is indeed another day and another week…

Onward!

Are you going on a book tour – visiting bookstores and do the promotional media circuit to promote your new book. Jorma, you are a true Renaissance man. You’ve done it all. You are a father, husband, teacher, performer, guitarist and author. You are the man!

I was never, nor am I now a fan of ABBA,I find them funny.
However when Cros was in the House,ABBA was getting rich.
I believe they made better decisions.

Crosby mixing it up again. Knocking Abba. Better to err on the side of mercy and kindness. Crosby should try dancing to some Abba tunes. Good for the health, of spirit, soul and body. Just sayin’.

    Before the show tonight…
I’ll be checking out the three biggest attractions in New Hope.

    Blondes, brunettes and redheads.

Woke up today, flipping around the channels, just in time for “Dear Jerry” show and just in time for Jorma’s turn with his nice version of Sugaree. Who says there’s nothing good on TV.

I’ve often told my kids, “There’s a lot worse places to live than SE Ohia!”

I was at the Eclipse store the other day and found a flyer for the 2017 Arts & Minds at the Ranch. I’ve seen no such announcements for this year. I always enjoyed coming to the Ranch for this open house arts & crafts show (with performances by Jorma and others, incl. Rob McNurlin!), does this mean that the Holiday Faire is coming back in December, instead? Hope so. m

My father grew up on the banks of the Monongahela River in Grandville West Virginia. I can remember fishing that river with my dad and watching those coal barges go by.

Great shot of the evening moon Vanessa! I missed this last Pho Dinner…..please let me know when the next one is scheduled .
Jorma , any plans to have Marty back at the Ranch once he is able to get back on the road?

Your observation of those coal barges makes me want to get out my 9 Pound Hammer, or at least listen to your version

I often listen to your Homespun “Listen and Learn” CD, recording will be like riding a bike. Enjoy the ride

I guess there are all type of options on how to set the mood for the narrative work ahead of you.. Lower the lights for certain sections. Go for a monster walk or swim b4 another. Maybe a prayer b4 each reading. Heck, this story and work is going to be listened to for the remaining time this planet exists, (unless the lights go out), and maybe someday on another planet, God willing.

Not like you have done this before but you certainly are comfortable in front of a mic…plus there is no one looking at you except your dog maybe.
What kind of mic will you be using? Maybe put it thru a Leslie speaker, during the readings related to 1966-1970. Just a suggestion…lol
    What would Kantner suggest??
Have a blast and continue acknowledging and thanking the Good Shepherd.
