Well it was a hectic run of four gigs in a row. Lots of time spent in the bus and more than well balanced by the music we were able to make. After Jackson Hole we drove on out to Seattle.

Now we’re in Sacramento and tomorrow is the gig at the Crest Theater.

Now for some sleep in a bed that doesn’t move!

    Ooh, ooh, I know this! I used the word n a Dodger blog a couple of weeks a ago when talking about another SF book (Neuromancer) and a discussion popped up about it’s infrequent use.

    Just finished my ebook of BSL….my mailman must be reading my hard copy!!!
    Wonderful read….thanks for sharing the hard personal stuff, JK…..thanks also for the album info, guitar and motor talk….best of all, the lyrics….
    I can recall my Airplane friends and I discussing why Jack and Jorma cut off their hair, you know, questions that are important to young n dumb fans. With what little info we had it was decided that both had gone to Finland to be speed skaters….now we know the truth about this and so much more…ill never look at pepto B the same again!!

    @careygeorgas, Stranger In A Strange Land…. Robert Heinlein…grok.

    One thing I thought cool in the book was the use of the word “grok”. I was in jr. high when I first encountered it, and haven’t run across its use many times in the intervening years. I think I’ve seen Jorma use it a time or two in this blog. Who amongst you fellow commenters can name the author and book that coined the word? I read a lot of sci-fi as a youth, and it’s from my favorite authors in the genre.

    I just finished the chapter “Too Many Years.” I can’t believe (and yet I can) how beautiful this book is. This is not just a rock-n-roll memoir. It’s not even “just” the story of a recovering addict. It is a beautiful journey of spiritual self-discovery and awakening. Thank you.

    I just finished reading BSL on my morning commute this morning. The last pages, with Ben’s amazing poem, and it’s impact on you were so moving. What an insightful, loving man! What a book and what a life! Wishing you, Vanessa, Izze, and Zach, and for sure Jack and the Tuna and Fur Peace families a happy and healthy New Year and many positive blessings. BSL was a joy to read. Thanks for writing it all down and L’Shana Tova.

    I’ll see you hence in Tuscon come Monday. Saw Acoustic Tuna with Barry your first time at the Englert in Iowa City but now I finally get to hear Electric Tuna. Got the book bundle too. If things were any better, it’d be illegal. After following you for 40 years, it’s about time I finally caught up with you.

    Great drone shots. How did you like the Mountain Winery remodel? When you were there in 2003 it didn’t have the amphitheater-like seating.

    Super good show in Portland. Nice venue and I especially loved the long Funky #7 jam! Just curious where the name “Funky #7” came from? Were there 6 other funky jams and you guys decided on #7?

    Got back from the Finger Lakes yesterday and there it was – the book. First of all thank you for writing the book. Thumbing through it I see pictures, I notice lil Jorma – you were so cute as a kid. Then the lyrics to lots of your songs – thank you for that. The CD was a pleasant surprise – possibly 5 of Jorma’s favorites. Thank you.
