Yea johno bout same time, no parking, parked down block between closed warehouse and a gas station. problem was when station closed for the night 10-11 pm so go the lights, it was black, when we got back all cars parked there had windows smashed electronics stolen except our car cause it was mounted left side steering wheel g
The old Capitol Theater had no parking. We pulled in from New York in 1976 going to a HT show and parked down the block from the theater. We were smoking a doobie, the smoke filled car looked like something out of a Cheech & Chong movie. A police car pulls up with 4 bulls inside. I swallowed the evidence and made it to the show. Luckily they didn’t find the blotter in my wallet. Good times indeed!
Ah yes, Dr. Joe. May I take it back even further to April 8, 1971 when Papa John Creach added his iconic style to all those “Burgers” favorites. A time long gone, but not forgotten. Classic Hot Tuna!

Ah the good ol’ Capitol Theater in Passaic, NJ (unfortunately now a used car lot). Some great shows there…Grateful Dead, Charlie Daniels, Outlaws, New Riders, CSN,,,but my favorite was May 20, 1978 solo acoustic Jorma that was billed as Hot Tuna. An amazing night of 30 songs from Keep your Lamps to Jelly Roll Blues to Mann’s Fate that went on to the wee hours of the night…or it seemed that way. Good Times !!
I always credited Mose Allison with Parchman Farm , Young Man blues( who at Leeds), and Johnny Rivers seventh son, maybe we’ll have to employ a secret agent man to get to bottom of this .
I think they could use an infusion of new Secret Agent men in the District.

It’s great to throw that album into a CD rotation for a sedate outside summer dinner party,
The feedback on Summertime Blues alleays gets the queried, who is that group.
Never saw Blue Cheer , but I’ve heard that they would get plaster falling of ceiling in Fillmore east.

Hey, Tim. I was at a couple of those shows at the old Capitol in Passaic. Nov. ’76 (first time I saw them) and in Nov. ’77, if memory serves. Had 4th row seats for Tuna in May, ’78, but, as we know, that turned out to be a “Jorma” show.

Any chance we saw the bus heading north on the New Jersey turnpike this morning, between say 8 and 9:30am? My husband pointed out a tour bus and jokingly said “it’s hot tuna’s bus”…….coincidence or fact? We were traveling south…..seeing signs of spring in Maryland, but may have snow tomorrow!
