I was up at Sirius/XM yesterday to do some interviews and a lot of cool stuff happened, but I’ll talk about that tomorrow. Gotta get up to Bay Shore and the Boulton Center.

Any info on that Sirius visit would be greatly appreciated. What shows or channels involved? I’m in my car all day and listen to Sirius constantly. I’d hate to miss a Jorma visit.
Can’t wait to hear what went on at Sirius. One of my favorite shows is “Tales from the Golden Road” talk show on Ch 23. I called in the other day, talked a little about your book and Freight and Salvage.

First Corinthians chapt 2 vs 9 — “Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him.”
Brother Marty certainly had a beautiful voice, so if the choirs of angels do praise God with some semblance of a voice, Marty would certainly be invited in. From what he encountered on the other side, and MERCY being one of the first experiences, he would want to go and sing “hallelujah” – (an expression of worship or rejoicing).
First few days or nano-seconds, Marty may be just settling in, doing some life review, prayer and penance, yet he may get some breaks to sing in the new schedule, over on the other shore…..or he sings thru it all….
Remember what Paul wrote, not Silas, “Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him.”
In the last billionth of a second God can appeal to a soul and offer mercy, love and salvation. Marty was no fool. When he was offered mercy, love, forgiveness, truth, I’m confident he rushed toward and embraced the divine mercy. God bless you Brother Marty and may you intercede for us, if that is indeed how it all works.
And for you finger pickers out there, remember, someone should always be driving the bus.

I just realized that the universe is a freaky place and why limit ourselves to solemn memorials etc…Marty’s probably back in his body in 67 right now and enjoying the heaven of singing with the band…Who’s to say you can’t do that?
Gotta relate this. I’m not a guitar player but I like guitar music. Most of what I’ve seen through the years is rock ‘n roll and blues. Whenever I’d watch a performer, my attention was drawn to the hand on the neck, not the pickin’ hand, because that seemed the dominant hand. Through this blog I’ve gained new awareness about pickin’ and the piedmont style through Jorma’s narrative. I witnessed it up close when I saw him do an acoustic solo show back last February. His right hand was mesmerizing. Well, when I went to see Michael Martin Murphy on Monday, he’s got his own style of pickin’, don’t perzactly know what it’s called, but I wouldn’t have paid as much attention to that right hand had it not been for what I’ve learned and seen from this site’s host. It deepened my enjoyment of the performance, and made me think of the Captain as I watched. Thanks for broadening my horizons.
I was listening to Lucinda Williams perform the song “Joy” and thought it to be a good Tuna cover. Kinda like “If this is love, I want my money back”. Just sayin’…
Great show in Bay Shore last night. 4th row center.
The sold out show with all my hard core Long Island Jorma comrades were
hanging on every note. Including a soulful “Death Don’t Have No Mercy”.
Opened the show again with “Ain’t in No Hurry” and closed the show
with “Genesis”. Jorma looked so good.
Can’t wait for the Beacon show next month. Love it!

Loved the sold out show Bethel Woods show. Great vibe, historic site and Hot Tuna – it was absolutely perfect.
Great setlist opening with “Ain’t in No Hurry” and ending with “Genesis” two of my favorite Jorma songs. “Ain’t in No Hurry is a great album.
Onwards to the sold out show in Bay Shore tonite.
