I saw The Blob in 1958 when it came out. I went to the Avalon Theater on Connecticut Aveunue near Chevy Chase Circle… my hood. I think I took my girlfriend Kathy. I sure knew how to show a girl a good time back then.

It’s been a while since I played the Colonial. This was Jack’s first time in Blobland. He loved it. As time passes, it’s nice to play new venues, but always a welcome pleasure to come back to familiar ones!

You can't make this stuff up.

The White Rabbit art theater next door…
Yesterday we got up and drove up to Rutland, Vermont where tonight we will play the Paramount Theater. Raining here and raining at home. at least it’s not snowing… today.
More will be revealed…
Jorma, incredible show. Thank you! Monster second set. Hope this is a future release!!
@Carey- Used to be the drug was the tug. I’m in a much better place now 🙂
Since movies began, I suppose that sometimes guys took gals to scary movies with the hopes the gal would draw close for comfort and protection. Good thinking Jorma. Must have been an equivalent to the movies in ancient Rome and Athens and elsewhere as well…
How bout in the early 1970s when the Exorcist came out? Now that could have driven the woman to a convent, shul or chapel. I wonder how The Blob event worked our for Brother Jorma.
Just to say the words, The Blob is a kick.
I remember that movie well. Really excited for the string of west coast shows with Mr. Kimock in a few months. The anticipation of a Hot Tuna show never gets old.
And Steve McQueen’s girlfriend in “The Blob” was Andy’s girlfriend on The Andy Griffith Show. She is gonna geta reputation as a run-around.
Steve McQueen was one of the stars of the blob.
@JB JB knows…
Got time on my hands today. Just got done listening to “Don’t You Mess With My Woman” by Lightnin’
Hopkins. He’s singing about her and says “She’s bow legged and knock kneeded, and that woman kind of sticks out behind”. I don’t know of anyone else who would even attempt such a ludicrous description, much less pull it off. Love me some Lightnin’!
The tug is the drug 😉
Check out the Blob theme song
@JB Florida strain largemouth. We’re a little far south for a good smallie fishery.
Largemouth or Smallies?
The never ending circles of life bring us around and around in the most unusual ways The White Rabbit Theater next door has to be one of the all time toppers.
Ya’ll are getting the rain we got last night. Last cold shot of the year, I hope, though some would smirk at low 40’s being called cold. On the lake tomorrow evening for a three day spring fishing trip. Casting for bass while listening to Tuna. Only thing beats that is a big ‘un on the hook.
What did end up stopping the “Blob”? Was it magnesium, or CoQ10? Maybe curcumin/tumeric.
God bless the soul of Steve McQueen. He handled a motorcycle well in the Great Escape. Showed us how to go into battle and use wisdom.
