Well, thank goodness the weekend was graced by good weather. Some nasty rain came in yesterday afternoon and continues today but redbud is now in sight and I now we’ll finally be wrapped in Spring in a day or so.

Monochromatic bleakness hangs on, but not for long!

This weekend we hosted Spencer Bohren again and David Wilcox for the first time. David is a great artist who invites you into the welcome room that is his world. He taught a great song writing class and enthralled us all with his performance at the Fur Peace Station!
I spent a lot of time this weekend getting to know my D’Angelico as well.

The weekend blessed us with a window of fine weather. The music and fellowship was grand!

Today Nessa and I drove up to Lancaster, Ohio to take a look at the Mill Event Center, where I’ll be playing this Saturday night the the 28th. This is a brand new spot, and it’s going to be a winner. Check it out. Only 250 tickets will be sold!

Me... waiting for the other 245 people.

“…wrapped up in spring in a day or so.”
While looking out my laundry room window this morning, I noticed some tight tulip buds about to burst forth, splattering the side of the house with happy colors. As usual, my thoughts turned to the Creator while contemplating such senseless acts of beauty. Can you even begin to imagine a world without flowers?
Indeed, He makes everything glorious.
One of my favorite non Tuna songs is “Glorious” by the David Crowder Band. it’s a great song and well worth a listen. Just heartfelt praise for the great I am. If you you-tube, try and pick the version where Crowder just starts out playing his acoustic guitar type instrument – love the sound of that instrument.
I’ll sing the song while walking my good-ball, newf-ball through the hood; as long as nobody is within earshot. Lot of repletion of “you make everything glorious…’ so a no brainer for a dilettante like me. In the Spring, I can’t help but sing it with a little more gusto!
I relish this time of year – each season has its blessings, eh? Just before the leaves once again emerge triumphantly, there is this ineffable light green hue that last lasts for a week or two. I eagerly await this moment every Spring – I believe it will start towards the end of next week in the Chicago land area.
Indeed, sometimes the greatest things in life are free!
@Andy K
I don’t do bucket lists, but Denali is a trip I hope to make when the opportunity arises.
@carey georgas
Don’t miss an opportunity to see Alaska. Denali has the most amazing glaciers and wildlife.
Hoo-wee! Nice D’Angelico. Those were Johnny Smith’s thing back in the day in Colorado Springs. He had a mess of them.
Oops, ain’t been to Alaska, so haven’t see ’em all. Still go with Appalachians.
I think I been to all the mountain ranges in US, Appalachian foothills are my favorite. The beauty is subtle compared to the western ranges, but intense nonetheless. Love those deciduous forests.
Sometimes I wish I had a place in SE Ohio instead of the Catskills. So many good vibes comin out of those hills and hollows.
Yes, I figured you don’t do PA… and don’t schlep your own PA. Cool venue for a cool showman… A song a dance man dare I say.
Enjoy mixing it up. Enjoy dinner should you get a chance to dine in. In NY sometimes we work for food.
Mill Event Center. How is the PA? Yours? Houses or hired guns? Almost small enough that you can bring one of those portable BOSE tower systems. Like I heard it said, one trip from the car to the gig should be all we have to carry. Maybe 2 trips from the car, so you can carry some snacks and a smoothie. Have a great gig Jorma. Keep spreading the good news to and for the Children of Zion.
It’s a professional venue… I don’t do PA… but they do, and it’s great! This is a really cool venue.
Great show on Saturday night with David Wilcox. Also got to meet and chat with Spencer and his wife at the break…SUPER folks!
Much love to Jorma, Vanessa, John, Stephanie, all those in the kitchen and everybody else that was involved this weekend at the ranch. I couldn’t be more grateful and honored to have been apart this weekend that came and gone a little sooner than I would have liked but non the less it was one to remembered for years to come. Id like to thank everybody that was mentioned above who continued to show me great amounts of graditute, love and support that won’t be forgotten and lead a perfect expample of how we should treat one another just as human beings sharing this planet together. I’d like to say a special thanks to you Jorma for the wise words of wisdom, handfuls of laughs and non the less being able to duke it out on the guitar with you. Much love my man!
Hi Steve… There is a bar and there will be food trucks featuring barbecue… yummy. There is no official meet and greet, but I’ll be hanging out. Billy, the guy who owns the joint is a friend of ours. See ya there!
Jorma
I’m looking forward to The Mill Center Show. Do the have a bar and restaurant? Is there a meet and greet?
