Saturday night I played the Mill Event Center in Lancaster, Ohio… just up the road from us. What a beautiful venue! Everything went really well… especially considering as it was their first show. I love this venue and these folks! I’ll play there anytime.

I have always been curious about the European support for the blues and jazz.
The current iteration of Canned Heat ,with Fito still on the drums(bright guy stayed straighter than his mates and bought the song rights and band recordings), they’re on Ads all the time,and Larry Taylor now on Les Paul.
Occasionally you’ll have an oppurtunity with Harvey Mandel as well.Last time we caught them was in 2015 in Milwaukee ,we had an 8- week German Shepard pup,There for a triathalon.First night met Clayton Kershaw coming in the elevator,Red eye flight from west coast on interleagur against Angels
Next night Canned Heat at a local blues festival,maybe 500 people in local park,Beer Brats ,Canned Heat.next night Dodgers Brewers game in a very cool stadium.
Next morning early rise,Swim,Bike ,Run.
My girl got 2nd in the 45-49 .Fast bike.
Milwaukee’s a blast and the Harley museum is cool as shit.
Back to the European love of the blues ,4-5 years ago Hot Tuna did a winter stints is Germany,Scandinavia with Canned Heat,I’ve never heard how the shoes went with the cobilling?
I’m encouraged to hear there’s support from Eastern Europe for this musical genre

They work in office with a good boss an American who teach them many things about America and how-to be Americans , also hot Tuna music, been to many concerts. Love watching “Trust”. And “coming back to me” was a great choice for depicting what turned out to be deadly drug use during that era. It was subtle and beautiful for a heart wrenching scene.
Nice. The show Trust last night included Comin’ Back to Me as well as the Peter Green version of Black Magic Woman as part of it’s soundtrack.

Jorma, yesterday it was 88 degrees in Brooklyn I went to the beach . Hot tuna fans sitting next to me we both on day off from work. They read here on this blog but don’t comment because they are immigrants and not interested in being trolled but they recognize my name. I invite them to the restaurant and they will be here next week for hot tuna Tuesday. Barbara lives in Europe now for work the next 5 months she has been there over the last month. Hot tuna fans are mostly good, she tells me when I call her to tell her about my new friends.

Spring has finally come to the Northeast. The trees are blooming and the birds are back and singing. I feel so alive. It’s supposed to be 85 here in the Catskills today. It’s my first Spring in the mountains and it is glorious. Deer, hawks, heron, wolves, woodchucks and fox are just some of my friends I share this valley with. It’s so different than Long Island. It’s so quiet at night I can hear myself think. I’ll go back to LI for a bit in June. But for now I’m in the country and loving it.

Sad to see Gibson file for Chapter 11. When I went to Yellowstone a few years back I called their Acoustic factory in Bozeman to see if I could get a tour, why not just around the corner (at least in those parts) Not only did we get a tour but the folks there were all artists in their own right and just a delightful group. Awesome to see how they did all the inlay work
A producer once told Ian Anderson to get rid of the flute, it will never make it in a rock and roll band. Good thing he had his own ideas. R
That reminds me of a story John McEuen of the Nitty Gritty Dirt band once told. He told a story about his brother telling him to stop playing the banjo – “If a banjo was meant to be played in a rock and roll band, the Beatles would have done it.” – LOL
We all had a good laugh and then McEuen broke into a Beatle song on his banjo that blew everyone’s socks off. I wish I remembered what Beatle song he played.@Robert Burke
