Got to spend some time with some old friends and then an eight hour drive to Crystal Bay Nevada. Checked in yesterday and had a delicious dinner at the Casino Restaurant where we sat at the table where Michael Corleone called Fredo out here in Tahoe.

Never talk business outside the family!~
Not much soulful chit chat in this blog, but more is coming down the road.
Good times…
Welcome back to the mainland Captain.
I’ll be at Graceland, too. A small convergence in the offing?
We will be at the Caverns and Graceland……..See you there.@Greg martelli
Steve Earle. Good ‘ol Texas boy. I read an article about him in the Houston paper a couple weeks back that started out with him sitting in a local guitar store called the Rockin’ Robin picking a tune. That article has led me, in a roundabout way to finding a guitar teacher who used to work there, and Imma buy me a guitar and start learning. Jorma was an influence in me getting off my ass and doing what I’ve thought about for years, and a good ‘ol Texas boy serendipitously led me to a teacher. Onward!
Agreed Johno.
Feel So Good is my favorite Jefferson Airplane song. Of course Jorma wrote it. During the early 70’s Hot Tuna played it a lot. It always included a bass solo by Jack. Seeing it live all those times was amazing. Was such a psychedelic song.
I have my 25th invitation, via Relix, to the Irving Plaza, NYC show.
Thanks for the sanity check guys, sometimes I have problems distinguishing between the music in my head and whats on the TV. Feels So Good off of Winterland is one of my favorites as well. Here’s to the 50 year celebration (and to think I still have my 25 year shirt)
Oh, i paid off long ago. Have a brand new Capt now, quite another life.
Carlo Pagliano?…..from the Gambino crew?…when’d you get out, baby?
Look me up next time you’re in Jersey City
Rock Them All Away And High Tonight, Jorma!

OK since this thread is ongoing..I worked on the Sopranos pilot..We on the prep crew thought it was about a soprano singer..Little did we know what a hit it would be..Look out for the Sopranos prequel..It is called Newark and stars Gandolfini’s son playing his father..Although the street scene was done in Paterson NJ and the interior sets were done on Long Island NY..
I live minutes from The Bing. And I too heard the Airplane several times on The Sopranos.
Sitting in the upholstered driver’s seat of the world! – is sittin pretty!…
DID catch that on the Sopranos…I have a buddy that to this DAY insists the actor who portrayed “Uncle Junior” is actually Sammy Piazza…ANYways, did you catch the episode at the Bada-Bing club where the girls were shakin’ it to “Crown of Creation” from the airplanes “30 seconds over Winterland” album?…I was like SLAP me with a chicken parm and call me CARMINE!….sure, I’d of preferred “Feels Soo Good” from that record, but it worked for me, Capeesh!
Since we have a Mafia thread going, I started to binge watch the Sopranos and on the first episode right in the beginning when they are driving I thought there was a snippet of a jam from Bless its Pointed Little Head. Anybody else hear that ?
Let’s all revel in our independence .

Than on to Mark knopfler at Ryman 9/3/19,year is rounded out with Van in Belfast on 12/31/19.

Happy 243!

Yes in the Godfather
I always thought Jack would be a great mob boss..smooth jazz bassists would wake up with sawed off fender squire fretless headstocks in their tour bus bunks if they didn’t know the opening bass riff to “White Rabbit”….Don Casady strikes AGAIN, baby!.
Capeesh!
Is this from the scene in The Godfather?
@Richard
I work in the NY film biz and according to crew I know who worked on the film said in the horses head in the bed scene they used a real horses head..They wanted as much fear in the actor as they could get..They got the head at a dog food processing plant..Ouch…At least thats the legend..

Can’t wait until September…Hot Tuna at the fantastic Sheldon Concert Hall, 4th row center. Wow!
Looking at those set lists, I see a whole lotta work… and fun. Good you and Jack are pressing on. It is your vocation, as unique as it is. Nice way to make a payday.
I hope none of the mob vibe rubbed off on you while you sat at the supper table. Good chow I am sure.
