The Musical Instrument Museum in Phoenix is a must for every museum lover whether you’re a music geek or not. There was a great new guitar exhibit and I got to see Charlie Christian’s guitar.

Now I’m hungry. Whenever I go to Coney Island I go to Nathans and get 2 hot dogs and a French fries. The hot dogs are great – they snap when you bite one. And the French fries are some of the best fries I’ve ever tasted. Great potato flavor.

Ok, move from pizza to Nathan’s french fries out at Coney Island… What is is about that taste??? Is it the oil the fries are soaked in?

I know Jorma was at the Chelsea Hotel, 222 W 23rd Street, but did he ever make it out to Coney Island? Worth the visit for you visitors.

This pizza talk is killin’ me. In my little burgh, I got two choices, Domino’s and Pizza Hut. Talk about lame! I’ve been to NYC a few times, and I don’t know where I bought pizza, alls I know is that I’ve never bought a bad pie there. I guess maybe I got an advantage when it comes to enchiladas and tacos, but it’s hard to beat good pizza.

Damn, @Johno, @ Sweetbac Jr….Pepe’s is good, no argument here. Love their clam pie. But hey, there’s alot of good pizza everywhere. Check out Star Tavern in Orange, NJ – excellent thin crust pie, among the best in the northeast for my money. Butt here’s another place I ain’t gonna name in in Montclair cuz it just reopened after closing its Little Falls place a couple years back. You know it if you know it. Hands down the best pizza anywhere IMHO. No rezzies, no take-out…Jorma – you like pizza, let me know next time you’re in NYC area and I’ll take you there.

Oh, one more thing, no better water than NYC water! (And I’m a hydrologist).

I stand corrected – Pepe’s is the best pizza in the America. USA TODAY did a survey about 4-5 years ago on the best pizza in America. Frank Pepe’s in New Haven was voted #1. Sally’s Apizza, down the block, came in #7. They are both great.

Technically Queens is NYC…just sayin’. I am sure you can find a nice calzone in Queens/NYC, but can Queens compete in the hot dog and green juice category? Again, just sayin’.

Queens, the home of Che Stadium named after that revolutionary guy, right?

We could probably get a consulting geologist or hydrologist to opine on the water and it’s influence, our KY water
Is too soft and alkalineThe NY water is running over granite boulders and quartzite stream beds,I say it’s acidic from running through the deciduous forests as well.
I’ve heard that the water makes the crust.

Don Pepe’s in New Haven was voted the best pizza in the world. It’s really good. How about Sallys Apizza down Wooster St. They must have good water in New Haven too.

  20. Comment made on March 4, 2019 by johno

We got the best pizza and bagels in NYC because we got the best water. The NYC water supply begins in the Catskill mountains in upstate New York.

Heard an interview today by Mark Goodman & Alan Light with Mary & Denise from the Ace of Cups. Two of the sweetest ladies, who couldn’t say enough nice things about Jorma and Jack. Can’t believe I’ve never heard their story before or never heard their music until today. After hearing their story and how effusive their love for Jorma I had to check out their music. It’s been stuck in my ever since.

Jorma, they couldn’t have been nicer in how they described your help both as teacher and friend.
