My cousin who lives in Naples was at the Bonita Springs show also. He was definitely buzzed. He said it was a great show.
The Key West show must’ve been special for Jorma. He met Vanessa there around 30 years ago. It is a great town. Betcha he played Genesis.
We were at the Crossroads last night…The place was buzzed with it…

Thank you for another in a long list of outstanding Hot Tuna and solo/otherwise performances for what is for me now, almost 44 years. The interplay between you and Jack last night in Clearwater was intense.
Particularly, “Death don’t have no Mercy.”
That’s why I keep coming back. I was able to pick up the new release from 69′ in the lobby. Can’t wait to check out out.
Seeya next time!
Cardinal Rock Them All Tonight Jorma!
@Tom in St.Louis
Third row center for the Sheldon in September!
Suddenly I feel warmer.
Just so you know, your September 4 show (9 months from now!) in St. Louis at the 715 seat Sheldon Concert Hall is sold out 5 minutes after tickets on sale this morning and I’m gonna miss it!!!
What an album cover shot at the Mayan temple!…
See you up close Saturday…

Ahhhh..the life of a rock star. We can only imagine. Great blog. Keep on Truckin’. Brrr it’s cold here.
O Captain, my Captain…..is Jesus the engineer?
Rock Them All Tall Tonight Jorma!
Sounds like you’re having a great cruise. The Mayan ruins are so cool. Love the pictures. Don’t you have a Mayan tattoo on your arm or hand?
Great pictures…Looks like you all had a good time, Nice set list also – Sea Child was a good add.
🙂
Hey Jorma, Scott Kirby is a great singer-songwriter…got to see him a couple times with Peter Mayer and Brendan Mayer (kin to Dead & Co’s John Mayer). Thought I left a nice post last night but it either didn’t take or was deleted. Anyway, Jam Cruise sounds like a lot of fun! Would like to check out a Jam or Blues Cruise some day. Joe Marcinek shared a pic he took with you earlier in the week. He’s a great guitarist. I first saw him in Athens on the Friday night before the final FPR show in November 2016. The Rockwell brothers and I were in town for that final show and after dinner on Friday night we, by chance, stumbled upon a concert bill for Joe Marcinek album release show at the 24/7-Venue of Dreams which, at that time, was located at Stimson and Palmer. I wasn’t familiar with Joe or any of the musicians listed except for Cody Dickinson (drummer for the North Mississippi All Stars). We decided to check it out. Joe also had a guy named PJ on bass (from Chicago’s south side) and a wizard on keyboards by the name of Holly Bowling (who by now should be a household name for any GD / Jam fans). They hit the stage at midnight and played 2 1/2 hours straight without a break. It was a SUPER night of music! The crowd consisted of me, the 2 Rockwell brothers, and about 10 college kids! Despite the small crowd, the band cranked!!! Although the entire set was awesome, their takes on “Fire on the Mountain” and “Don’t Do It” are etched into my mind forever. Gotta love live music! Looking forward to the upcoming 2019 FPR season!
Hey Jorma right off the Key West Theater lobby is The Grateful Guitar shop. You can’t miss it. For the best conch chowder the Smokin’ Tuna Saloon is nearby. A bowl of that will help you sing better! In their open-air courtyard local picker/proprietor Scott Kirby goes on at 5:30…it’s only fitting that Hot Tuna should dine at Smokin’ Tuna. Safe travels!
Yep, you all missed a real nice rain/ice/snow storm last night. Don’t forget the sunblock! m
The old man and the sea? I guess the analogy to the novel ends there, but it sounds cool, and that picture of you surveying the main is very cool.
Great sights, great sounds. And speaking of sounds, thanks so much for the release of “Before We Were Them”. Stunning!
Jorma you be looking healthy, and you haven’t even hit the salt water yet. Enjoy the sun and peace. Pray for the good old Republic, of America.
Looks like fun! Would like to check out a Jam Cruise and/or a Blues Cruise someday. BTW – Joe Marcinek posted a pic with you from earlier in the week. Actually first saw him play in Athens back 2016. It was the Friday night before the final FPR show of 2016. The Rockwell brothers and I chanced upon a concert bill after dinner on Court Street. The bill was promoting Joe Marcinek Band album release show. I wasn’t familiar with any of the musicians listed except for Cody Dickinson (North Miss. All Stars). Show was at the 24/7 – Venue of Dreams which, at that time, was at Stimson and Palmer. In addition to Cody on drums, Joe also had a guy named PJ on bass (from Chicago’s south side) and a wizard on keyboards by the name of Holly Bowling (she should be a household name by now). They came on at midnight and jammed for for 2 1/2 hours straight without a break…to a crowd of me, the 2 Rockwell brothers, and about 10 college kids! It was an incredible night of music. Their takes on “Fire on the Mountain “ and “Don’t Do It” are still etched in my memory. Looking forward to the 2019 FPR season!
As the freezing rain falls, I can only think “At least Jack and Jorma are warm!”
Isn’t cruising great. Best thing about taking a cruise is you don’t have to do anything. They do everything for you. Been on about 10 cruises mostly out of NYC and Miami. Been all over the Caribbean – just love it. Enjoy yourself!
