Court Street In Athens is beautiful on this night

I arrived in Miami this afternoon, but a day or so ago, this was the sight as I took Vanessa out to dinner. I actually love winter weather… when it is really winter weather. If it’s going to be Winter, let it snow. After dinner getting back to the Ranch, it looked like this:

I love this place!

This morning Izze’s Middle School was on a two hour delay so I let her sleep as Myron and I drove up to the airport in Columbus.

Tomorrow we board ship and set sail for what will be our first Jam Cruise. I shall report more on this as connectivity allows.
On to Belize!
Great shot at the Mayan ruins, should use in an album!

Nice scripture. Provides hope. Good to ask to be forgiven and purified.
Crossing Jordan, do not fear, Jesus gonna be your engineer.
Snowstorms tend to slow everything down. A great time to grab a book, a cup of coffee and a warm blankie. There is such a peacefulness in the midst of a blizzard.
Isaiah 1:18 “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow. though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.” I think about that verse every time we get a good snowfall.
The good Lord willin’, I will be building another snow man tomorrow.
Maverick looks like he is having a bad hair day!
Great line from Fred Neil, and inspirationally played by JA, I think I’ll get a sailing boat and sail the Gulf of Mexico.
Rockonic hot breeze blows from the Cap rollin’ strong in Belize.
Rock Them All High Tonight Jorma!
anybody have the presale code for college st music hall, new haven , ct.
I wanted to followup on Jorma’s comment about liking winter. I have lived in Massachusetts all my life. When I say I like winter people look at me like there’s something wrong with me. We have a storm coming in on Sunday; I will make a pot of chili and watch the flakes. Then a good ol’ cold snap… So, Jorma, there’s at least one other person who enjoys winter.
@AndyK
I’ve always wanted to go to a show at that studio, and would be great to catch HT. The stars are aligning!! See y’all there I hope.

Any kind folks have a presale code for Boston in August ? Ticket b****** making it hard to get a decent seat without connections and the old tuna passwords don’t seem to fly
Thanks Andy..Just got Row B…Yea!!!! Now for the long wait, although the Brooklyn show is sooner..Looking forward to both..
Thank you for annotation .The release prompted me to watch Last Days of Filmore ( or whatever it is called), last night combo of rock concert and big Lebowski .Bill Graham -great.
I always felt the approach to a 6-8 hr experience that once launched took any one of a number of trajectories ,
Needed to be carefully considered and measured. Not all rides were without turbulence.
Always best to ride the music, or head to the beach, nothing better than sunshine & salt water.
Never had a bad trip. I walked right up to King Tut’s gold and turquoise mask and had a chat with Tut at the Metropolitan when his artifacts came to NYC back in 1977. I used to go museum tripping all the time. Of course I got dosed at every Hot Tuna show in the 70’s that I attended. Thank God I was backstage most of the time. The scene is very important for tripping. You need the right scene. Outdoor tripping was the best. Still go up to the Catskills all the time. There too – you need the right scene.

Has Hot Tuna ever played in Mississippi ?
Never had a bad time…….@johno
Anybody have the presale code for the Westbury show on Long Island in August? Thanks..
You’re heading South at the right time. Big snowstorm expected this weekend.
Owsley was avant-garde. Truly ahead of his time. Must’ve tripped 100 times. Never had a bad trip. Some of it was Owsley acid. LSD is making a comeback here on Long Island.
“In those days the amp gear was part of the sound.”: And that’s as it should be. I don’t care how great preamps and boxes are today, nothing beats the sound of multiple stacks of Marshalls/Ampegs/Sunn/etc. amps turned up to the appropriate volume and no technology, now matter how sophisticated, can replicate that on stage (although it can and does in the studio). Guitars and basses do not have the great live sound today that they did in the 60s and early 70s–the sustain, the overdrive, the power–because of the reliance on the PA and preamps/boxes. Miking a single 100-watt amp isn’t the same as a wall of amps. Unfortunately, the PAs back then couldn’t compete but now they can, so the best setup is to let the amps do most of the work for the guitars/basses and to use the PA for the rest and try to get the balance right.
Highly recommend the new Owsley recording release…music to these ears….and the work of the Foundation is remarkable and worthy of support…thank you for posting and alerting those in the community to it…
New Hot Tuna out, from Owsleys soundboard 69
Hey Greg… This is indeed a really cool album. Sidebar, in my recollection, Bear would never have used a soundboard. He would have had his own mike system direct into his Nagra. The sound on this project is awesome. Soudboards were primitive back then. Bear was always ahead of the times. Whenever someone talks to me of soundboards from ‘the day,’ my thought is always, ‘So you only want to hear drums and vocals.’ In those days the amp gear was part of the sound. Just sayin’
Happy New Year!
I was glad to see the concert line up for late summer electric shows. Will HT be the headliner for all those shows?
It’s on the websites Robert… I’m guessing yes.
