A winter wonderland…

This was Monday… of course, it’s Friday today and only mud is left. Still and all, it was really pretty for a while.

Well, tomorrow night at eight Eastern Time we will be offering #29 and believe me, I’ve got lots of good stuff planned.

Yeah, it may be chilly and rainy outside here in Meigs County, but it’s going to be warm in the Fur Peace Station tomorrow… maybe even hot!

Hope to see you all there!

Well the Vogel is indoors capped at 150 seats and meets current indoor rules so I think I will be seeing Jorma next Saturday at 7pm in Red Bank. Ps thank you and the Gang for keeping us to attached to reality with your music these past 8 months

Was indeed to the hotter side ! Thanks a mil for all the goodness that you and your cohorts there have been putting down. If ever there was a time we need it most ! Really enjoyed the Operator, and Sitting in Limbo. Alot of talk about Janis which we all love, but maybe you can say a few words about Pigpen one of these days. Maybe you already have and I missed ? Rock on…

I’ve been meaning to ask you, would it be safe to assume that while playing gigs in coastal New England, that a common audience request would be “QUAHOG” ?
    Seems fitting.

My heartfelt thanks as usual to you and the gang for #29.
I’ve been meaning to ask you though, would it be safe to assume that while playing gigs in coastal New England, that a common audience request would be “QUAHOG” ?

Two thumbs up for the “Yikes!” t-shirts.

Great stories last night, Jorma, about Marty getting arrested, and about Jack’s owl. Thank you.

Today’s “This Date in History” column notes the Altamont concert. It includes a photo of two Hell’s Angels on the stage, with Jorma in the background.

Thanks so much for sharing your music with us these past 8 (?!yikes) months. Your weekly concerts have been a reliable source of solace and frankly, the only consistency in my life since dad died of Covid, and then getting laid off after 17 years. Thanks again for playing Genesis that week when I requested it (along with others I’m sure). Everything gives way and we move on if we’re lucky. Your guitar helps. Hugs and love, Sally

Rick: Your description of the concerts and what they mean to us is so right. They’ve really carried me through these dark times. And when I found out that my 95-year-old mother tested positive this morning (doing fine now, thankfully) I realized even more how much these special Saturday nights help me cope. What Jorma and the crew have done for all of us is one of the greatest acts of kindness we’ll ever see.

Yeah ham & eggs…Would you like to know a secret just between you and me…I don’t know where I’m going don’t know what I’m going to be…Jack was winding up the best version of ‘Other Side’ I’ve ever heard on only 3 strings…The Angels were not about to club Grace who told them “That’s stupid”…Grace seemed like all she needed was a stage and huge crowd…Too bad they chose the Airplane set for their bad scene…The Quarantine shows are the cure…

From Rolling Stones review of Gimme Shelter at fifty
“ but especially now — after nine months without live music, even Altamont looks tantalizing. It’s tough to watch the film in 2020 without musing, “I would totally risk a pool-cue flogging from acid-crazed bikers for a few minutes of the Jefferson Airplane.””
Rock on Jorma and thank you and the crew. Maybe Lather for 30?
    Peace✌🏻️❤️Love All Ways🔥🚲🌹🙏🏻🖖🏼

I picked up “The River Flows” last Friday on Record Store Day. I’m blown away. Your solo opening The Ballad of Easy Rider is fantastic! I could listen to it on an endless loop. Other standouts are Choices and The Old Homestead. Johnny’s voice just reaches into your heart, with its phrasing and intonation, and gently holds your heart saying, “It’s OK, you’re not alone”. This LP is definitely the only good thing I’ve seen with the numbers 2-0-2-0 on it. I don’t know if y’all at FPR realize what these Quarantine concerts mean to all of us. In this worst of years, as 7 pm (CST) on Saturday approaches, it’s like wandering alone on a dark, cold night in the woods, when all of a sudden you see a candle in the window of a cabin and you know that when you walk through that cabin door everything will be alright for 90 minutes or so; you know that you’ll be with friends.

Has anybody seen the still missing Police Dog anywhere around?

Be well and stay healthy folks. “See” you later tonight!

New Jersey’s governor just capped outdoor gatherings to 25 people effective December 7th.
Will this put the Vogel shows at risk?

      Hey Robert:
The simple answer is… we don’t know yet. We hope for the best of course but who knows.
