Vanessa and Izze were up all Wednesday night getting the menu together. Lobster Mac & Cheese, Nessa’s own roasted peppers, Spiral cut ham, Sweet Potato Casserole, Cranberry/Apple/Mango/Cherry sauce, Maple Glaze Delicata Squash, Arugula Salad with Buffalo Mozzarella and Tomato. Izze baked a Three Layer Coconut Angel Cake.
A most special feed indeed… all plans came together without drama!
Needless to say this was in same ways a Thanksgiving like no other, but in the last analysis for us, at least, it was a blessing. I’m not going to go into a litany of things Covid-19 has taken from all of us but the Kaukonens have certainly not lost as much as some.
Our Thanksgivings are usually spent on the road with the Hot Tuna gang and we have always loved that. This made a Thanksgiving at home so much the more precious.
We hope all our friends out the had a good one too. We must also point out this:

In a normal world, we’d be at the Beacon or Town Hall like we were last year. In this one, we bring you a streaming concert from the Fur Peace Station. It’s the least we can do. Of course Vanessa and I will be on the feed chatting with you all.
That’s about it for now. As always, more will be revealed!
Stay Well!
I was smiling from ear to ear all through last night’s performance😊
Thank you Jack, Jorma, Justin, Vanessa, and all who make this possible.
Love Hot Tuna!
Yes indeed as JB mentioned “out of superlatives” about last night’s electric Hot Tuna performance. Just “WOW”! I no doubt bothered the neighbors with my speakers turned up to eleven at times. Took me back 40+ years to the Palladium, the Capital Theater in Passaic and the Warner here in DC. not to mention many other venues coast to coast over the decades. Seeing Jorma live at the Birchmere this coming Jan. 13th will be my 60th live Jorma concert. When you add up the hours per all those past 59 concerts I’ve attended it means I’ve had Jorma and the various Airplane/Tuna/White Gland band member assemblages play before me 24/7 for over a week straight! The weekly streamed Covid concerts are icing on the cake and my dues have been sent in to Vanessa. Thank you!
Out of superlatives. Just a mesmorizing performance! Thanks again Jorma and Company!
… and it was indeed a very special Elec Tuna super show tonight, Brian.
Robin – My bat senses are detecting a special Electric Tuna show tonight…
Gettin’ kinda itchy…can’t hardly wait!
Had the good fortune to tour the Gibson Acoustic factory in Montana, the luthiers are the artists to the artists. Didnt get to pick up a copy of the River Flows but my local record shop told me about the on-line rules and managed to find an on-line store, so I will have to wait until Friday to receive it. The best part about Thanksgiving is its time to break out the Jorma Christmas CD. BTW looks like Michael Falzarano released a Christmas CD this week (with a few guests), order on his web site. Hope everyone had a great turkey day !!!
The NYTimes published a nice feature article on how Martin Guitars builds their guitars. A nice piece with many photos of he process. Thought there might be some interest here – https://www.nytimes.com/2020/11/28/magazine/martin-guitar-factory.html?action=click&module=Editors%20Picks&pgtype=Homepage
I believe you can access it without a subscription. Looking forward to this week’s show. Live or taped, it makes no difference to me. Thankful for them all.
May you both have many more Thanksgivings and rainbows. m
Happy Thanksgiving just picked the record day release tell Mr Hurlbutt job well done
Vanessa’s shot gives the Ranch a Brigadoon-ish look. Out of the mist, under the rainbow. A loverly image!
Hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving.
I just got home from the record store with my very own copy of The River Flows. It’s playing on the brand new 4-in-1 turntable and sounding great! I’ll read the booklet when the wife puts it down. 🙂
Nice job fellas!
Very excited for the electric show on Saturday Jorma! And when you get around to some sorta show down in Fla; you know I’ll be there.
