Glad to hear you felt safe performing Captain. My cousin also had a gig that he livestreamed a little further north up in Rutherford. He is hoping to get it a weekly gig for the downtown restaurants. He didnt get a citation, but it was the mayor that got him the gig. 70’s soft rock stuff, he does a nice cover of Eltons Mona Lisa and Mad Hatters at about the 25 minute mark. I guess talent can skip over cousins, oh well.

anyone screaming “WHERE’S JACK!!”…they used to do that ALL the time at the Capitol Theater in Passaic as I recall…..well, that and BOO every opening band!

And if you go back to 1971, you could have seen the Airplane for $5 in West Orange, NJ – had the show not been canceled….I never did get a refund, but after 22 free Quarantine Concerts I’m ok with that.
@Chappy…pretty good memory indeed. I saw those shows at Waterloo and in Parsippany (either the Marriot or the Hilton on Rte 10, either way it was a low ceiling!). But the best were the various solo JK shows I saw ’84 – ’87 at the legendary Stanhope House. A memorable one was in February ’85 with a Harley parked on stage behind Jorma. (Speaking of ‘citations” Jorma, remember comin’ up the Turnpike to do a Stanhope show with Joey Balin after visiting Dollywood?) Anyway, as John Hartford might have said, the “back in the goodle days”. Not that nowadays are necessarily the “baddle” days. I missed the Blu Grotto shows, but looking forward to the next time around, hopefully soon!
I’d say that’s suitable for framing! Lived in NW NJ for a couple years back In ‘90-‘92. Saw some great shows at Garden State Arts Center and one of my favorite places of all time the Stanhope House. Also a couple great HT shows back then: Electric HT in Parsippany (it was a hotel ballroom…maybe Holiday Inn?)…great rockin’ show! And then at Waterloo Village: Acoustic duo opening on a double-bill with Bob Weir and Rob Wasserman….if my memory serves me well..
Your music has always had an NJ connection. The show and the citation were apt.
Good one Rob ! It truly was a special night at Monmouth Park on Monday evening. All of the practice time you have put in since the quarantine started was very evident in your playing . You were just terrific in all aspects of your performance. Thanks again Jorma for coming to the Garden State and delivering an end of summer treat to all in attendance.

Jorma my wife and I had great time at the show on Sunday in NJ. Was great being out and hearing live music. But also not just music Jorma live. Thank you for playing in the Summer cold night. Would love to see the show on video in the future if possible. Stay healthy and safe.
That was a really nice show on Monday night, Jorma. Thank you so much for coming to NJ (and toughing it out in the cold). Those train engineers need to get their timing down, but they sure have a nice sound.
And if you can forgive a presumptuous comment: Your extended “practice environment” pays off for us, too. It’s been half a century since I first saw you play and I think you’re sounding better than ever.
