My buddy Kyle Brunnetti presents me with an Ian Buchanan CD

Here Kyle gives me some Ian Buchanan material that he passes on from John Sposato out on Long Island. Kyle’s a great young man… and a lucky one too. He’s got his Dad’s Les Paul!
With Day One at the Boulder Theater under our belt… a good night’s Boulderado sleep, and on to day 2.

Daggone it… I lost the card of the photographer who took the picture!
Note must be taken of David Bromberg’s wonderful band.

Tuna here in KC, MO tonight and off to St. Louis. We’re gonna miss David and his pals for sure. Safe trip home guys!
@Tom in St. Louis, you’re hurting my civic pride a bit. When the celebrated Mr. K interrupts his busy day to answer your post with “It’s just us,” I believe the correct and appropriate response is “That’s plenty more than enough and thank you for coming.” Hope you’re looking forward to as good a time at River City tonight as I am!
Jorma and Tommy Emanuel at the Ryman in Nashville this September . That ought to be a good one for sure. Hope the Ryman came through last nights tornados unscathed. We were just there last fall during our Tuna /Tennessee tour.
@carey georgas
I was lucky enough to catch Duane & Johnny on the same night in 1971. A couple months later Jorma for the triple play.
@Greg Martelli
Firesign. I feel ya, man.
I’ll never forget John -o suggesting he was bathing in a Adirondack stream with a few black bears and it copacetic ,I’ve got the viddy on that.
That one sticks out in my mind,it made me belly laugh.
The website is great,keep populating it.
I read this website daily as it is much comedic as anything else,not far off to quote fireside theatre.
Sometimes it’s all a clown show ( myself included)and I look around the room and everybody is grinning.
And there’s a captain at the helm and mates in support.
I’m frequently reminded of characters in Zap comics.
You’d literally fall off your bed laughing at the characters and scenarios.
Jorma’s guitar pickin character on the T’s advertising Fur Peace is a well done cartoon and somewhat in a R-Crumb vein . Great T
Now I can’t even figure out the source of my misinformation!
Local media? Dream? Acid flashback?
Nah, not after 40 years…
Thanks for the straight scoop, we’ll see and hear you there!
Dear Jorma-
Every source of information up until now said David Bromberg was opening for you guys Tuesday, March 3rd at River City Casino in St. Louis.
Did something happen?
Is there an opening act?
Not on my website Tom… Boulder was our last show with David… It’s just us.
Bloomfield, Bloomfield! Sheesh! The detritus is that is today’s political landscape keeps washing up on the shores of my consciousness and I ain’t got a front end loader big enough to keep it cleared. Mercy!
Hmm, I don’t see any KC dates on the schedule…. I know it’s late (1430 now) but the National Museum of Toys/Miniatures is still open if you want to kill some time in a fun place. And Jarocho is a great place for dinner….. If you really need to kill time you can come to my granddaughter’s karate class tonight. Free coffee for adults.
Glad you’re having fun. I just read a little piece about Lightnin’ Hopkins and his tuning and playing techniques. The site I found it on had some recordings of a1967 show somewhere. It says: “Taped in 1967, this is exactly what many folk and blues guitarists coming of age in the 60’s heard when they caught one of Hopkins’ live shows. As such one need not look far to hear Hopkins’ influence. From 1960’s guitar icons Johnny Winter, Mike Bloomberg, Jorma Kaukonen, and Duane Allman, up to Nirvana’s Kurt Cobain and beyond, Hopkins’ roots sound continue.”
Last man standing still continuing the sound for all who wish to hear! Thank you for sharing your talent for and knowledge of the genre so generously.
Hey …. Genesis popped out. Fantastic! What a beauty. It always turns heads when I am blessed to stand one more day and play it. Hope it was good for you.
If anyone has a link to it. please share…. Would love to hear an electric Genesis from 2020.
Good times. The breakfast, the sold out shows, the camaraderie. These are the good old days. Gratitude.
Safe travels… Enjoy driving thru America, Mr. Volunteer.
