Coming up tomorrow, July 31, 2020…

Wow, another gig

Yeah, this is exciting. Two shows for me to do this weekend. The Maynard Public Library and us here at the Fur Peace Ranch on August First.

Saturday night…

Yeah, given what we all have to deal with, this is a good thing for us. Hope to ‘see’ you all out there!

Marjorie was a powerful spirit in a tiny body. To call her an overachiever is an understatement. Warm and personable with a quirky sense of humor along with all her talent, her breakfast concert was a highlight (of many) of my Entrance Ramp. She left us too soon, but maybe thats why her star burned so bright while she was with us.

Hey, brother! You’re the first one I’ve seen on here from my neck of the woods. Hardin County, me. Ain’t but one county over. I went and saw Jorma in Tomball a ‘bout a year and a half ago, and felt like I was the only native Texan in the house. Everyone at my table, even a couple from Beaumont, migrated from somewhere else. You a native?

Two shows !! almost like being on tour !! Unfortunately the library is still closed here in Palm Beach county. I did finish “Hamilton” before I did a Barnes and Noble run (amazing how politics has changed so little in over 250 years). The summer reading list, started with World War Z (Max Brooks, Mels son) a zombie apocalypse with amazing similarity to COVID management. Ball Lightning, another Chinese science fiction story I have heard its better than the Three Body Problem trilogy. Pineapple Grenade, another in the Tom Dorsey series with Serge and Coleman, I suppose you need to live in Florida to appreciate the insanity. Thanks Captain, Enjoy and stay safe

Our libraries are open in SE Texas (Montgomery County). The folks working at the library are very happy for use of their services. Masks and distancing guidelines are followed. They are happy I use the ILL service. Inter Library Loan program. They can get almost any book or CD if it is in a library. It took a few months but I was able to get “Manhole”. Yeah Buddy!

Apologies for mounting the soapbox here, but tomorrow night’s venue is a reminder of the crucial role of free public libraries in this country. Many need help these days. If you can find a way to support your local one, it’s a good deed that will benefit your community.
