    Say Jorma;

    I’m wondering why your blog doesn’t mention visits to museums and/or galleries. What’s up with that?

    • Comment made on March 1, 2020 by Jorma

      Hey Brendan
      Simple answer… I’m not on vacation. As my bandmates will tell you, when I’m working… that’s all I do. We drive on days off and when we go to the gig I go with the techs no matter how early and don’t leave until the show is over. All my waking hours on the road are devoted to the task at hand. Setting up, warming up, establishing my turf, playing the gig, going back to the hotel, sleeping, getting up and repeating. That’s why I don’t write about museums and stuff… because I rarely go to museums.

      That’s it.

      Jorma

    Had album were all bozos on this bus and and a few years later don’t crush that dwarf ,hand me the pliers
    I imagine Paul would be smoking ,drinking at Trieste and then going to say rosary across street at the church
    Peace

    @Greg martelli
    Good post Gregory.

    Here is a quote from a Gregory, a pope, one of the good ones, many a century ago, “Obedience is the only virtue that plants the other virtues in the heart and preserves them after they have been planted.”

    Much of the fruit of the 60s was brokenness, dark light. The goal of stopping the war was genuine. The drugs hurt/destroyed many. Here is a Dylan quote related:

    Don’t need a shot of heroin to kill my disease
    Don’t need a shot of turpentine, only bring me to my knees
    Don’t need a shot codeine to help me to repent
    Don’t need a shot of whiskey, help me be president.
    I need a shot of love, I need a shot of love.

    Eisenhower warned about the military industrial complex. Let’s hope current military leaders keep us out of unjust “stupid wars”. So far soooo good, but like Dylan sings and the Gospel says, “there will be no peace, until He returns.” But that doesn’t free us from trying to be at peace and work for peace.

    What would Paul Kantner, from his current perspective, advise us now?

    Hoping this virus thing fizzles out….Our health is our wealth.

    PS Hamm and Eggs, was it just the pliers he took or did he take his life back too? Just sayin’.

    So your the reason it didn’t float!
    If you had stayed on the bus you would have heard Marty sing “if only you believe like Paul believes the pentagon will fly”, he tweaked the lyrics a few years later.
    Anyway can you at least please return the pliers you took on the way off the bus before we go any furthur ?
    Peace Love All Ways @Greg martelli

    Years ago in college I attended a great concert on the Washington mall in front of the Washington monument.
    The music was great( also attended one there with The Beach Boys , great contrast but as good , I hope I’m not being sacrilegious ).
    Always enjoyed the Airplane , but I’m getting to the point of the “evolved transcendent state “, that we think we inhabit.I will not debate Paul’s contribution and talent , both undeniable .
    One of my favorite JA compositions is Saturday Afternoon /Won’t you try, as for an album his Jefferson’s tree of Liberty and Blows against the Empire were great.
    However ,when he suggested that if all in attendance on the mall willed it they could levitate the Pentagon.
    That’s when I got off the bus ,Acid and marijuana don’t equate to empowering one to make international diplomatic decisions nor drive national defense policy, i for one will leave that to the “dreaded” military industrial complex.Im sure when this is reviewed I’ll suffer the same fate as St.Stephen,to quote Rhett Butler ,Frankly Scarlet I don’t give a damn.
    To the point ,the world is a slug fest ,the geographical feature that indulges our elite ,transcendent state is that we’re separated from the rest of the toilet by the grace of two oceans.
    When the politics of pot obfuscated the vision of these folks , I put my money where my mind was.
    I never got a political lecture from Jerry.
    As for Chet Powers (AKA Dino Valenti -another bozo , I preferred Quicksilvet without him.

    To quote the pack leader here: enough said

    @John B

    It is quite a unique composition. Vocal has a confessional type plea, maybe a little like David’s emotional state about 3000 years ago.

    “to see which way I have fallen”

    So many ways to fall. May we not fall anymore.

    David’s house won’t fall. Line of David still pressing on, despite all the brokenness around us. May we all keep being light and salt for this world.

    Enjoy the extra day tomorrow. Leap year 2020.
