Flight testing the Phantom 3 Standard
Drone shot by Jorma Kaukonen
My Phantom 3 Standard is about to find a new home so I thought I’d fire it up an reacquaint myself with its vagaries so I can show Justin, our chef, how to fly it.

Yeah, its been a while since I flew this bird so it took me a minute to figure it out. It doesn’t use Ocusync as a flight system like the more modern birds do. That said, once I got back on board it worked perfectly. Justin’s going to love this UAV if he can keep the kids from crashing it.
Meanwhile one of the blessings about living where I do is that it is a sparsely populated tri county area and I’ve got 126 acres of my own to play on not to mention the Farmer’s Market in Athens which brings up the next subject… fresh lamb. Ok… so we got the lamb last Saturday (baaaah) and grilled it last night… gotta love the grill. Vanessa made the crudités:

What’s not to like. Notice Dad’s old Phillips radio. It’s over fifty years old and today is still the source of my NPR news in the morning.

Yep, only 28 degrees this morning, but the grass is still growing

Every night is movie night here at the Fur Peace Ranch. The other night we saw Unorthodox on Netflix. I always meant to read the book and now I think I will. Four hours well spent. I’m also revisiting The Strain. I loved it the first time around, and it seems truly timely today… vampires notwithstanding.

OK… Smiles is working on building a bridge across the mighty Shade River so we can easily hike the rest of our property. Good stuff in this time of personal limitations.
Now… Saturday the 18th of April another grand streaming show from our very own Fur Peace Station.

As always… be there… or be square… and stay well!
Werner Herzog “Aguirre, the Wrath of God”. Cool flick.
Never Argue with a German if you’re tiered or European song (bark)

@cgeorgas
Lieben schaffen leben brah… Just sayin’ CG
Samstag nacht – dort sein oder quadratisch sein!
Ich kenne eine bischer Deutsche, aber nicht sehr gut. Twelve hours in college, but done nothing with it. Hope to go one day. I only missed bischer and aber from memory.
After all this time as supposedly some kind of intellekchural (and other things not fit to be disclosed in this forum), not till now has it occurred to me that wolves like Tuna! (is that comic release or what? heh heh)
Rock on Budz.
A former colleague of mine once said that these are the 3 essential questions one needs to know how to ask in the language of the foreign country you’re in:
-Where is the bathroom?
-May I have a glass of wine?
-Are you 16?
Spent some time in Bavaria as well.
Mostly around Munich. Beautiful area. Went to Neuseaustein(sp).
It was crazy King Ludwig’s castle in southern Bavaria and was
the inspiration for Disney’s castles.
I don’t think he was crazy and he was definitely murdered.
Read a really good book about King Ludwig awhile ago.
Check also Visconti’s movie from 1973, Ludwig, Mad King Of Bavaria. Good stuff!
Hi Jorm, hope you see this, and before too late – hope all is reasonably well I think it’s Thursday (or at least Wednesday) . . . as if you were wondering what to play on Saturday – how about Uncle Sam Blues? In addition to just being great music for any occasion, it might be particularly relevant at present, don’t ya think?
Just listening to one of my favs Keep Your Lamps Trimmed and Burning..Very appropriate for these times..Maybe play it on Sat?..Hint Hint..
I will like anything you play..
Hallo Jorma, nice to see, that you are using the german expression “mittwoch” for wednesday. I knew, that the words “kindergarden” and “sauerkraut” have found the way to american language, but never heard of mittwoch. Cool!
Yeah Wolf
I’ve spent a lot of time in Bavaria in Inzell back when I was speed skating a lifetime ago. I don’t claim to be proficient in German but I can count money and read menus… the two most important things any foreigner can learn anywhere. I have such fond memories of that area and still have many friends there. Like they say in Bayern, Grüß Gott! 🙂
Jorma, I look forward
To your new writings
each day. It lifts my spirit
In this time of uncertainty
I’m 63 so I’ve been checking
you out since around
1967…and I just love how you
have evolved.so, keep
on keeping on.and I’ll
be reading and listening
be safe, peace and light
to you and your family

Loved Unorthodox, but sadly there were only 4 episodes.
And NPR is a great source of news and entertainment.
Say safe.
Do you have any shots of what Dr/Brother Smiles is building?
A bridge across the Shade to the rest of the FPR property… not done yet.
What time should I be there for dinner, Jorma?
Another show about same subject on Netflix as Unorthodox is called One of Us..FYI..
Will be there again on Sat…It is becoming a nice thing to look foward to..It really helps a lot so thanks to all involved ..
