Long time fan here, since high school back in late 60’s. I’ve also been playing music myself since then, but never was that talented, we just played for fun. I want to thank you for allowing us into your home and letting us enjoy some nice old time banter and music. During these times it’s the good old keep it simple pleasures that are of the most value. Just wanted to let you know you and your wife are appreciated for all that you are doing now.

Thanks Frank… I found today after my inquiry here, a Sanyo Pedal Juice Power Supply – Eneloop Pedal Juice Power supply… Can take care of one pedal for 50 hours and the unit can be recharged over 100 times. I can daisy chain others in. I will check in w local music store and have them get it for me… They always match Bezo’s/on line price. Support your local sushi place.
You are right about the rechargeable and the lithium. I can’t plug in either because I play outside.
This new power supply will allow me to do a long slithery intro to Serpent of Dreams, and depending on the news of the day, maybe a Morning Dew, but no matter what the news, always rip up an I’ll Be Alright Someday.
Thanks for the tunes Jorma!!…Despite the noise of the last half of the 20th century, you carried into 21st century, the tunes of the Revs, your own and others. Not bad.

Tom, you should think of plugging into a power supply. Don’t know how well a rechargeable battery will hold up. There area also I lithium batteries, which I believe last longer, but are more expensive.

There oughta be a law…although even with my limited knowledge of the record business it seems that artists’ rights and wishes are not exactly fully respected at all times even when there is a law…

For any gear heads that can assist I have a question. A friend gave me a Boss RC-1 Looper…. Does a great job…. Problem is I play outdoors and the 9 volt battery lasts less than an hour.
Anyone have experience w this Boss pedal?
Maybe I will have to get rechargeable 9 volts…any suggestions for rechargeables?
I know I can rig a car battery and make some kind of hybrid, that can power the Looper and the small Fishman amp…. I prefer to find a simpler fix.
PS Jorma, I know Genesis has been a nice pay day for you over the years when you add in , radio royalties, album sales, concert performances, movie soundtracks. Please know Genesis has done well for me on the street…Some folks have not heard the tune in decades and they thank me for the “Jorma tunes” as they toss in cash.
The poem was great, Jorma. Reading one every week is a terrific idea.
Btw, I agree with the idea that “outtakes are outtakes” and I think they should never be released without the musicians’ approval.
Having said that, on a Surrealistic Pillow reissue on CD, one of the “bonus tracks” is “Come Back Baby” recorded, according to liner notes, in March 1967. So after the album release and not really an outtake from those sessions I guess….but in my opinion it’s an absolutely killer version and I’m glad it saw the light of day (if you had no objections).
No objection… an early version to say the least. I don’t mind the good stuff… I’m just not into stuff for stuff’s sake.

Great show as always. I do believe me wife and I were at the Stache’s show in Cols. that resulted in you meeting John. We did both early and shows (I still have the ticket stubs, you know me!). My first live acoustic Jorma shows, it was a memorable evening on many levels.

Another great show! Thanks for sharing the story of how you and Brother John got to be friends. I’d often wondered but never asked. Coincidentally, and ironically, my story of becoming a HT fan originated in Athens, Ohio in 1980. I’m sure I’ve told the story a 100 times before but what the heck I love it and how it came full circle so indulge me: I was a freshman at OU in 1980. I had a few JA and JS albums in my collection at that point but was not familiar with HT. One day, me and buddy Gary J. (from NY) were sitting at the monument on the college green and he heard some guy playing guitar on the other side. We went over and Gary said “hey that’s a Jorma tune.” It was Water Song. So we head back to James Hall ((West Green)and Gary turned me on to Double Dose. I borrowed it and wore those grooves down and became a huge HT fan. Started seeing you and Jack whenever and wherever I could. Flash forward to late 1980’s and I’m living in Columbus. I discover a great record store on the east end of town and stop by there every Friday after work to expand my collection. There is a soulful brother who owns/runs the store and I enjoy talking music with him each week. At this time, I am starting my transition from vinyl to CD. One of the first CDs I buy is “Pair A Dice Found.” At the point of sale, this fella JH says to me “great album…Jorma just bought a small piece of land down in Athens.” Me: “What’d you say?!!!” I’ve been blessed to see JK and HT so many times since 1980 and many of those at FPR. Sorry for my indulgent story but it is so special in my life as a music fan. Blessings to Jorma, Jack and Brother John! Y’all have enriched my life. Thank you and keep on truckin’

Recovering….maybe that’s why it touched me so deeply. I’ve been sober for 36 years, and fought depression for a lot of that time.

No Jorma, we can’t thank YOU enough. We have the easy part, we just show up. I have not missed one yet and they have all been fantastic. But that 1-5 last night, I could not have scripted any better. Culminating in my favorite JA song, Third Week In The Chelsea. Still brings goose bumps even without Grace’s amazing harmonies. I don’t think any song writer has bared his soul more than you have in that one.

My wife and I have been watching these incredible gift concerts for several weeks now. She is recovering from chemo, and we don’t get out much.
Your opening song, (which I had never heard before), had me weeping from the deep beauty it captured. Every note just pinned my soul. I had to wait until this morning to learn that it was called ‘Living in the moment’ . I’m inspired to pick up my guitar again…..
please don’t ever think that your music and songs don’t touch the soul.
If you have the chance, I’d like to know the circumstances of your writing it.

Hi Wes… Living In The Moment is just one of those creations that is an unplanned gift. I wrote that song in the late 90’s and as a recovering person it meant a lot to me then and still does today. It is in dropped D and if you check out our instructional site, Breakdownway.com there is a detailed lesson on it. You got this!

Long-term fan. Saw you and the Airplane in Rochester New York when I was a sophomore in high school. Grace was pregnant at the time and I was in the second row! Yahoo! The concert really had an impact on my still developing prefrontal cortex!
I have not listen to every quarantine but “better than half “. If you have never played Eve of Destruction I would love to hear it either solo or if you ever do another quarantine with Jack. Somehow seems very appropriate in this time. Not to be a Debbie downer!
