I’ve been bringing out old friend (guitarwise) to hang out with me on stage and the River Of Time Guitar and I figured it was time to get reacquainted. A new set of strings and I was good to go. There have been some questions about the axe so here’s what Bud and Tracy left in the case… and yes, it is very similar in dimension to my M-30… but not exactly.

Happy Labor Day to all you laborers out there…
As Roy Rogers would say, ‘May the Good Lord take a likin’ to ya!’
Stay well!
Thanks for the dedication to my former student TT. His family were made aware of it. It was a very kind gesture.
@Brendan Carroll
Unfortunately there are people, and I hate to even call them people, who do. My daughter works at an Urgent Care and told my wife that one of their providers had a cat who birthed some kittens. She couldn’t get rid of them so tied them in a bag and through it in a pond. Makes me sick to think someone could do that. Sorry to repeat that here but be assured their are plenty of sick people who do that BS. Hopefully this thread ends here.
@Kevin
Not sure I believe that, Kevin. Who would do that?
I’m going to try to stay away from this board. If that guy isn’t looking for trouble, there’s a different poster who is and most definitely disturbed.
My head isn’t healthy enough for that.
Art are you originally from T.R. N.J.?@Art Chikofsky

@carey georgas
Huh.

I seriously have no words.
Cuz raised his dog responsibly. It was very dear to him and family. In his mind the bitee was totally innocent and under 5 y/o. As for the sentence, cuz is pretty hard and set. I have a hard time believing the breed doesn’t matter when the only fatal dog attacks I hear about are pit bull attacks. I’ll see one reported around here every couple of years or so.
I couldn’t put a bullet it one. I had to put my little Fox Terrier down through a horrible set of circumstances when she was 19. The only thing I could figure out was to put her in a trash bag and hook it to a tailpipe and gas her. She was so sick she couldn’t move. All she could do was lie there and howl miserably. Vet would not be available for hours. I had to do something. Hardest task I’ve ever taken on.
Dogs will be dogs
I don’t believe that a particular breed has a predisposition for vicious attacks.
Dogs are like guns unless you have lap squirrels.
They require responsible human handling and management.
My grandfather had a fox terrier that would bite feet at family holiday gatherings under the table,my father cautioned my grandfather-if you don’t take care of him I will.
My wife has several German Shepard’s,they are well trained and very controlled ,great play disposition.
I’ve always found the behavior of Canines to be very predictable .
You get out of them what you put into them.
Having been away from the “Dead” scene for years I was surprised around 06 to see all the bullies in the parking
Lots for the “Other ones”think there’s an irresponsible element that maintains the breed irresponsibly .
That’s my distillation .
Ever see anything like what’s happening in California?
And with human beings in this country continuing to kill other humans by refusing to follow basic virus precautions, this might not be the ideal time for homo sapiens to be picking on other species…
Central Park polar bear ate a hobo back in day. Keepers had to wait to confirm after finding foot inside sneaker inside cage. What’re ya gonna do? Ordinary course of business for polar bears. They sent him to Brooklyn Zoo. Damned if he didn’t eat another intruder.
Just to be sure you all know, the above “Art” was not me!!!
@Dan Nigro
That’s because they’re well behaved… until they’re not. I have a cousin’s had ‘em for years. The family favorite pet was perfectly well behaved, until he bit one of the children for no apparent reason. Cuz took him out and put a bullet in his head. If people want to keep them, fine, but don’t be complacent. The breed has been raised to fight and kill. Kind of like a wild animal. They’re so cute and playful – was until the genetics kick in and they bite your face. Give me a Fox Terrier any day.
I’m going to weigh in here… I raised Bull Terriers for years. They’re a responsibility like most bulls and they’re not for everyone. I never had a problem with any of mine and I had a lot of them and I had one who only liked three people, me, Vanessa and my sister in law.. She could be a tough dog, but we loved her and kept her until she practically died in Vanessa’s arms. Without being there, I would blame the bitee not the biter. I would have re-homed him with the right person. I cannot imagine a situation where I would shoot one of my own dogs. Just sayin’
Certainly well behaved and bull terrier is rarely used in he same sentence. They are rather high spirited but really surprisingly loving friends, although not with squirrels or rabbits
David Johansen has released a get out and vote song. He’s not shy about his feelings.

Relax dude.
It’s the truth.
@Art
Extraordinary times call for extraordinary measures. Thank God for Bob Woodward.
They just can’t resist sneaking in a little politics, can they?
@JohnB
John B, be sure to tell them it was a peaceful protest as well.
How about a close up pic of that guitar please if you have the time? Thanks for all the music.
Bummer, My annual check-up with my vascular surgeon, blood work and CT-Scan, which I am about to leave for in about an hour from now, has tapped me out. Hopefully tickets for the Blue Grotto will still be available come payday. Hope to catch you there.
Our knucklehead governor here in the Garden State has added travelers from the great state of Ohio to his list of United States citizens that must observe a two week quarantine when planning on staying in the state rather then just driving through. If state officials attempt to board your bus when you arrive in New Jersey simply tell them you are here to join in a protest march and they will wave you through . Hopefully I will see you at the Monmouth show in a couple a weeks.
Jorma,
Glad to see the River of Time guitar get some well deserved airtime under the lights.
“Guitars like to be played, they don’t like not to be played.” Words to live by.
See ya soon!
21 so nice, said it twice.
Yikes Jorma! No yikes last Saturday night.
Yikes Jorma! No yikes last Saturday night. Tons of fun tho.
May the good Lord take a likin’ to you too Jorma and your family.
Jorma, thanks for the background on the River of Time Guitar. Seeing GE play with you is like being at the Talkhouse, hopefully next year.
Water Song got me right here. (me tapping chest.) Seemed to me to say it a bit different than I’ve heard before.
I caught a Tuna/Musselwhite/Lauderdale/G.E. show at Fairfield U. some years back.
One could tell everyone in building was glad to be there and nobody could have been dissapointed. Toward end, a grinning G.E. challenged an amused Jorma with an in-your-face, vertically upraised Strat solo.(that Smith guy has big hands.) I was sitting cross-legged on aisle a couple rows in front of them and did a stationary C. Berry duck-walk/air guitar to punctuate levity. At some point Smith had a “where do I know that guy from” look at me.
Maybe you had to be there, but I was waiting for a van outside service entrance to an E. 42nd St. office building one unbelievably cold Winter day in 88′. (20 below with wind – queens transformer explosion with mile high plume that day.) I was seated behind desk with heavy coat, Elmer Fudd hat, and gloved hands folded on desk. Sitting on office chairs at curb were an Irish couple who were hooking me up with furniture, and who I appeared to passers-by to perhaps be counseling. I see G.E. walking down hill from Tudor City with his heavy overcoat and axe, on way to Friday evening SNL rehearsal. I played it straight and he had a pretty big grin walking between us.
Such a night! Kentucky Blues – natch, I had to find out where that Texas town old boy was headed back to. I didn’t recognize it from the song, and couldn’t figure a spelling out. So, I was able to find lyrics on the google, and there it was! Seguin. Pronounced Seh-geen, or Suh-geen (hard g) around these parts. A little central Texas town towards the San Antonio side between SA and Austin. Been through it a few times. So much fun, watching your shows!
Also, I gotta throw a TV show out there for David Lynch fans I uncovered on Netflix. A 20 minute short called “What Did Jack Do?”. Lynch at his finest. Cracked my ass up! Peace.
I missed last nights show but will be sure to tune in tonite. My buddy and i have come to the Ranch in the past when G.E. is playing and we had planned to this year until the dreaded covid reared its ugly head and disrupted our lives. I have a favor to ask of you Jorma for when you come to New Jersey in a couple a weeks. The September 21st show will be on my 65th birthday . If you plan to play Manns Fate could you do it on the September 21st show ?
Thanking you in advance;
JohnB
