No… not Sonny Rollins’ Bridge, but ours here at the Fur Peace Ranch.

Not Terabithea either!

Isolation depends on the environment I guess. We’ve got room to roam.

Up river

It’s been the first moments of warm sun here for while so it was nice to just get out, park the mule by the Shade River and walk a bit.

As summer approaches, the water will be gone

Nessa looks for Morels. Good luck. 🙂

Where are those shrooms?

I used to be able to find morels at the old homestead. I have yet to find one here.
Well, we’ve got to get it together for another streaming show for the Fur Peace Station so we headed back up the road with the Mule.

The old farm road back up to the FPR plateau

This old road goes back to the early 1800’s and there is some cool graffiti etched into the rocks.
Back at the A-Frame, Vanessa climbs the steps the Smile’s son Eli built. This was a man’s work, I’m telling you!

Who needs a stair climber?

OK Back at the Ranch I placed some cool acoustic guitars. Which ones to play?
We’ll see.

Talk about blessings...

Quick music note: Tango El Bongo by George Van Eps, anything by Charlie Byrd, anything by Larry Willis, great keyboard player who passed away recently.

There’s our link for tonight.
See ya later
George Van Eps – excellent suggestion. Great assortment streaming on Amazon Music, Spotify
@Jorma
ahh yes Robt Graham – no cheap rag Jorma . . . I hope she got it on sale
Maybe I can find one at TJ Maxx or Marshall (if they don’t go under after this debacle) – last year’s fashion on the cheap!
Neiman Marcus just declared bankrupt
@rich l
yeah it’s Hippy Hee Haw!
Imagine Jorma in flannel shirt and overalls, with that tall straw hat and holding a pitch-fork, as if Archie Campbell, doing that “Where, Where Are You Tonight?” bit with . . . I don’t know who the other one would be, seems we’re running out of famous potential guests (dying off) Bob Weir? David Nelson? – is there some renowned hippy rock star/musician local to Ohio U who could stop by on Saturday night? Too bad Vassar Clements is gone – he would be pirfik
Then they could break away to a lazy front-porch setting, get the dog in the picture, and do “Gloom, Despair, and Agony on Me”
@Tom
You’re right.
@johno
Chelsea on 23rd
yeah that orange button-down is cool – would wear one myself, call it my “Jorma shirt”
Where can I get one, Jorma – do they carry them at Tractor Supply?
No,my friend. That is a Robert Graham shirt.
Jorma
Vanessa is my shopper! 🙂
Saturday nights have taken me on an emotional ride with your concerts. They are an affirmation of the good in people.
Thank you Jorma!
Thank you Jorma ,Vanessa ,John ,Izzie ,myron ..What a great show last night ! Really appreciate you putting these on .Hope to one day get back to F.P.R again in the future .
I realize I risk being blocked from this blog for the following observation, but the Saturday nights at Fur Peace are beginning to remind me of Hee Haw. Any chance we can get some Hee Haw Honeys sitting on a bale of hay, 6 feet away from Jorma?
Maybe a few quick jokes? “What did the farmer say when he hit the ball into the corn field?
Give up?
“Aw shucks!”
Last night, Jorma looks at Myron and says “Maybe I’ll borrow one of your guitars” (for Police Dog Blues), because “it’s really tough on the guitar.”
This reminded me of last summer when Myron was playing a set at Arts and Minds and he broke a string. Jorma said “You can use one of my guitars, if you promise not to abuse it.” Myron couldn’t make that promise and took a brief intermission to change his string. LOL!
You guys are the best! Can’t thank the FPR cast and crew enough for these shows.
DennisK
P.S. Did the new MIA/POW flag come in yet?
Hey now @rich I, dance like no one is watching. Another great show, Thanks Jorma, Vanessa, Hurl, Myron, Izze. When is Maverick going to do a walk on ? You guys are making Saturdays must see “streaming” TV
Great show. The best yet!
Every song was terrific.
“Third Week at the Chelsea” was amazing.
Great back story about the Chelsea.
An old, funky Bohemian hotel on 13th Street in NYC.
Thanks again for the show last night.
It is much appreciated!
Jorma, killer shirt last night dude.
Candy Man was great. I had to run to the bathroom, and sort of Grateful Dead danced to the bathroom while singing along. “Run to the corner get the babies in bed, I said run to the corners get the babies in bed….”I had my hands in the air and everything. (by the way the Papa John story about him having to go, “again,” was a great one. Youth!),
My son said, “All right, that’s enough dad.” He was cramping my groove!
Hendrix baby! Wake those Neighbors up? Start with Voodoo child
Second try. Whatever.
Linda and I are hunkered in a 1 bedroom bunker in Pearland, TX riding out this pandemic. Long ways from 5 acres, but it’s what we got. Anyways, my first floor porch is about the size of a prison cell. I sit out there when the weather’s nice and practice my guitar. Play to my potted tomato, peppers, and cucumbers. I was out there yesterday tootling away and this young man, very early twenties at oldest, walks up and asks me if I wanted to play an electric guitar. I have seen him around, but don’t know him. He has obviously noticed me before. I said “Sure, what you got in mind?” He said “I got one I want you to have.” Naturally, I was taken aback. “What?”, I managed to stammer. He said he had a guitar his dad’s friend had given him that he doesn’t play, and he’d seen me out playing and wanted me to have it. What could I say? He returned in 5 minutes with a guitar in a nice little hard case with two little “Orange” something speakers and a tiny control box. It’s a cheap Chinese knockoff of what he called a Les Paul design. But hey, it works and now I got an electric guitar. Point is, my firm belief that the kids are alright has been happily reaffirmed, to my benefit no less. Thangs may look crazy as hell right now, but good ain’t gone nowhere. Great show last night…
LOL Orangeman, I hope Jorma let go of the “You dropped the phone on my guitar last night. What the hell Jorma, you got a bazillion of them!
You did get a workout in last night!
Will it post?
It did
Fantastic show last night Capt.
I look forward to these shows each Saturday night.
Many Thx.
forget the Kardashians – keeping up with the Kaukonens is the thing!
@Brian Doyle
I canoed from the Delaware Gap to New Hope in 2 days. Solo @ 18.My body was pretty sore for a few days. We used to Bike to the little flat brook to trout fish. Great Times as a youth. Now living in the SJ AC area. Walked the AC boardwalk today
Another fun night..Really enjoyed you and Hurl together..Nice props from Vanessa..Lysol,Clorox…What is going on in the Capital?
wow, the guitar tour I’ve wanted, thanks! m
Go get ’em Jorma – we are all out here sendin’ our love –
I come up the Blue Ridge from the Delaware Water Gap on the Appalachian Trail in that pretty corner of NW New Jersey…Saw my first rattlesnakes of the hike up there…They were still sluggish from winter…
Jorma’s Livestream party starts soon tonight! More acoustic heaven for the Reverend Davis faithful…
My sister has a beautiful 10 acres of land bought in NW New Jersey for $9500 back in 1970. She was always amazed with the variety of mushrooms she’d find in the woods and wisely, she bought and read a little pocket-size guide book about mushrooms before trying to add any of them to food. For some reason, it has always been sitting out on her coffee table. One day, I decided the read that little book and when I was done, she said, “Well, what did you get out of it?” I said, “That you should always get your mushrooms at the supermarket.” Basically, there are a whole lot of wonderful looking funghi you can find in the woods that will kill you or damn close to it if you eat them. So please be careful out there.
