Last night I put the splatter vinyl on the Rega turntable.

I could have gone down to the Studio which is a might fine listening room and where I have my 1962 Marantz pre, Austin and Michaelson TVA-1 power amp and JBL 4312 speakers but instead I opted for my father’s old NAD integrated pre and power and his great Polk Audio speakers.
This project was something I had been thinking about for a long time. Covid-19 gave me the time to make it real. For John and I to have Justin Guip engineer and mix this project was the frosting on the cake!
Culture Factory USA picked up our project immediately and we were thrilled and honored they did so. I couldn’t have asked for a better relationship with a label.
So, it’s coming folks… don’t miss out!

Though we no longer own a turntable we’re looking forward to hearing Jorma and John’s album eventually on digital. I remember the first splatter album I owned was Dave Mason’s “Alone Together”.
On sound listening, Jorma, I’m 71 and still use an NAD 7155 receiver and two Polk Audio speakers in my workshop. I bought them new from an audio store in Berkeley (The Sounding Board, on Shattuck) in March of 1986 (I still have the receipt for the speakers).
We haven’t missed a quarantine show and remember well Hot Tuna shows in 1970’s in SF Bay Area. Your reflections are wonderful. Don’t remember you sharing as much from stage back then. We’re listening from Arnold, CA on Highway 4, one of America’s Scenic Highways.

I can’t swear that this is the case, but I think my dad got his gear from the Sounding Board. I hope to drive your Highway 4 before it’s all over.

Congratulations on the Man Of The Town Award. Many thanks Jorma to you, Vanessa and team for making Saturday a welcome respite from the pandemic with great music in a spirit of giving that doesn’t happen enough anymore. You have been a balm for my soul in navigating the ignorance and incompetence of President Punk. I wish you and your family a wonderful Thanksgiving and Happy Holidays. I will tune in for #27 tonight from Saint Charles, Illinois.

Sorry to say I /We will be sitting this show out. My wife is an RN working around patients with the “Vid” as she calls it.Also our Daughter is expecting around the same time. Speaking of the Revolutionary War growing up near Trenton was part of our young exploring days.Bike Riding as a kid to Washington Crossing & Bowmans Hill was a regular thing. My love of History & taking our then young son on different Vacations to explore different sites helped choose American History as a college Major
Looking forward to this…RSD is a great opportunity for you and your record company to make more material (new and archival!) available on vinyl. New editions of Relix material perhaps??

Thanks Joe I most certainly will that. Princeton isn’t far from where I work and my friend and I occasionally find ourselves in Princeton . Great little town and if you are a Revolutionary War buff there is a lot of history in and around that area. Will you be going to the Red Bank shows .

How well I remember the days I would flip through the used record bins in Bleeker Bobs (the shop was not on Bleeker, Bob lived on Bleeker). Nice little record shop here in Jupiter Analogopolis, picked up a copy of Barbeque King the other day. The Dual, Marantz, JBL set-up is long gone but those 6 in 1 players sound just fine (retro look is cool too)
Hello Jorma, first time commenter. Was reading your stereo info and I’m surprised that you being a good friend of the late Bear Stanley don’t have Meyers. You must have better sales resistance than me. Although like many thinks with the Bear I think he was right. My Meyers (UPJuniors) sound pretty good, especially listening to your stuff

Hi Andrew… I gotta say I have never really liked the sound of Meyer Speaker Systems. Sounds like sacrilege I know, but that’s just me. I always found them to be brittle.
I’mma check out Cactus Records in Houston and see.
