Eighty one was on me like a thunderclap! Where did it come from. Where was I when it was on the way?
Wow! Izze and Vanessa and I went to our favorite Asian Restaurant in Ohio… Akai Hana.

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who wished me well on this momentous occasion. It is muchly appreciated!
It was a great day!
Sending Love and Gratitude, with Best Wishes for a healthy, wealthy and Happy New Year!!!
The zoom lessons this past year were a dream come true, I want to say THANK YOU for all the time and effort put in by Vanessa and Stephanie to make it happen. It certainly rearranged my DNA, many little tricks and tips will last a lifetime, handed down to the next generation… After going to so many shows, Wishing I knew how that Eminor chord worked, or “the big G” on this last day of 2020, so GRATEFUL my wishes came true… Learned so much about where the rubber meets the road, that right hand…
Many Thanks Jorma, Keep On Truckin!
Darn, missed the stream but I suppose I can catch a replay on the FPR channel. Missing the chance to chat with our Den mother is truly a loss. Happy New Year to all, hopefully we won’t be asking for a refund for 2022. Be smart and stay safe, we will survive
Thanks so much for the livestream last night. Had the warm vibe of a New Year’s Eve Quarantine Concert. I stayed up WAY past my bedtime here in Jersey, but the music was more than worth it. And Gail Weisman on the chat. Never met her, but seems like a wonderful human being.
It must just be Surrealstic to return to the Bay Area.
“ Strolling the hills overlooking the shore
I realized I’ve been there before
The shadow in the mist could have been anyone
I saw you
I saw you
Comin’ back to me”
Happy brink of twenty twenty two.
Stay safe out there
I wish you a happy and healthy new year.
Thanks for so much good and inspirational music thru all these decades.

Happy Birthday Jorma!
Sincerely Jody
PS: quail’s egg with that tobiko
Hope Hurl’s re-hab is coming along well. Stick with that PT, Brother John!
Just heard Joe Bonamassa’s interview with Keb’ Mo. I’ve been a fan since I first heard of him back in the early 90’s (probably from a write-up in a blues magazine). Anyway, had no idea he played in a band backing up Papa John Creach in the 70’s! Curious if Keb’ ever played FPR? If not or if so, would love to see him there down the road.
Looks like Vanessa as always came through to make it a wonderful 81st for you .
Hope you both enjoy the holidays and best for a great 2022 !!
The best is yet to come.
Wayne
Again, many, many more Jorma!! See you @Natalies!
JORMA YOU ARE THE CAPTAIN. THATS ALL FOLKS. HAPPY BDAY
That is a fine looking plate of sushi and well deserved, happy birthday and happy holidays to the Kaukonen clan. Chinese food tonight ?
Happy Birthday Jorma!
That looks yummy. I love scallops.
Merry Christmas to all who celebrate!
Peace on earth, goodwill towards folk.
Hey Jorma,
A belated HAPPY 81ST BIRTHDAY !!!
Today is my 71st and some of the BEST times I’ve have in those 71 years have been provided by you, Jack, and various other members of HOT TUNA !!!
Hope you had a good one (looks like you did) and have many more to come !
Thank you for being YOU !
Happy 81st (!!!) Jorma. And Season’s Greetings to everyone at the Ranch, as we sit here in the Jefferson Campervan next to the Atlantic in Portugal. On the Jambox first thing in the morning, what else – that 1996 gem from Relix, the Captain’s ‘Christmas’. Frank, Taylor and Odin (his best to Maverick) in Vila Nova de Milfontes
By the way, I almost bot a ticket for the Birchmere concert but decided I did not feel comfortable indoors with masks off during eating and drinking. I knew what was going on in the UK as my daughter was on an exchange program there. You don’t know who the vaccinated interact with, and it was too risky.
A Happy Birthday to you!
A Happy Hannukah and a Happy New Year to you Vanessa, and the clan.
Warm regards,
ARTHUR from the Birchmere
Happy Birthday Jorma! I may not have answers for where we’ve all been on this trip but we couldn’t have asked for a better Captain. I know I speak what others have echoed when I say that during the last year all of the efforts put forward by everyone every Saturday night week in and week out brought us all something truly needed. An extraordinary accomplishment and much appreciated gift from all of you to all of us.
Glad it was a great day for you, Jorma, and you are one lucky man to have that woman at your side.
You deserve it Jorma!
Here is Wishing you a very Happy 81st Birthday!!! I hope you and everybody at the Fur Peace Ranch enjoyed it as much as it looks like you did 😉 I just celebrated my 68th in the middle of November. Vanessa, thank you for treating him as good as you do, I’m sure that’s why he made it to 81. Merry Christmas to all those at the FPR that celebrate it and Happy Hanukkah to all those who have already celebrated it. Shalom and Mazel Tov

Oh yeah! That’s as fine a looking birthday meal as you’ll ever see!
Only other time I’ve seen “muchly” used was my dad (in exactly the same context). Mom was an English professor, and it used to drive her bat shit crazy when he did. I think that’s why he said it. Peace.
Congrats on the milestone
I would singularly attribute the longevity to the salmon roe sushi, followed by Barbacued eel(?) or is that makeral?
I like to swim them in Kirin
Enjoy -many more
Happy birthday captain!
Wishing you a great Happy Birthday, Jorma, a wonderful year ahead, and a real heartfelt thank you for giving all us lifetime fans the generous gift of Saturday nights together with you during the lockdown. May we enjoy many more years together!
