Well, it’s a little bit different out here these days, but I’ll take it! After the great gig with Tommy at the Ryman, I headed to Atlanta to meet up with Trey Hensley and Rob Ickes. We had a great backstage hang with Frank Solivan and much music was played.

Let’s hear it for the Winery!

    There are several Spiral Eye (sometimes Spiraleye) videos on Youtube.
    I noticed that there’s also another group called Spiral Eye but they are a metal band from Texas.

    @john o
    Yes THE one and only Bob Steeler..And he has never lost his chops..Played like I remember him back in the mid 70s at the Palladium in NYC..

    @Richard
    Was it THE Bob Steeler?
    He’s a legend in Hot Tuna lore!

    @Richard
    I saw Spiral Eye last Friday. I really enjoyed it and it was great to hear Bob Steeler playing those songs.

    Saw a great show last night at a small bar on Long Island NY..The band is a HT cover band Spiral Eye. Imitation is the best compliment. They had Bob Steeler on drums and he was awesome!!! The whole band was great..

    I’ll prolly have my 50th anniversary Hot Tuna shirt on. Eye will be peeled.

    Looking forward to seeing you at the show. I may wear a HT shirt with flames on the sleeve.

    Hey, Tom, please let me know what “show near Houston” means. I want tickets, too! Denver and Memphis were near enough for me.

    You put on a great show in Port Washington last night Jorma! The crowd was beyond excited, shouting out the usual “JORMA!” and “HOT F*CKING TUNA!” as one might expect. One woman actually wanted you to Facetime live with Jack from the stage! LOL!

    I’m sure you couldn’t hear all that was coming back at you. Several folks were shouting “THANK YOU FOR THE QUARANTINE CONCERT SERIES!” and “THANK YOU FOR COMING TO LONG ISLAND!”. Lots of heart felt appreciation flowing in both directions. Although, I’m not one to shout my appreciation in a public venue, I’m certainly echoing those sentiments here… sans the Facetime request. 🙂

    Looks like you are getting back to the road just fine. I have my tickets for the February show near Houston. Got tickets for my daughter and her guitar playing husband.

    The wife and I are heading to The Landmark in Port Washington for the show tonight.

    Looking forward to it!

    Meanwhile, as this amazing, inspiring, beautiful set lists, tour of intrepid finger picking rolls on…
    This week, Oct. 7, 1955, also marks Allen Ginsberg’s first public reading of HOWL in ol San Francisco:

    “ who barreled down the highways of the past journeying to each other’s hotrod-Golgotha jail-solitude watch or Birmingham jazz incarnation,
    who drove crosscountry seventytwo hours to find out if I had a vision or you had a vision or he had a vision to find out Eternity,…”

    I think there may be a thread here somewhere.
    Happy, Holy, Onward, Jorma

    Jorma, That drone shot from the hills near New Hope was my spot to get lost for a few hrs. om my Triumph back in the mid 70’s.Nice easy rides with nice scenery.

    Hi Jorma. Is “Take Your Time” a new original? I seem to recall you introducing it on one of the Q concerts.

    When I raved about Hot Tuna shows 25+ years ago I would get puzzled reactions as if I said The Turtles opened for Ringling Bros. at the State Fair – “they’re still around?” . I would respond, “Better than ever” (That Pete/Michael/J&J lineup was unbawevabew). I’m looking at this itinerary and set list and having similar reactin: “what, huh?”. Good on you, Jorms – carrying the torch!
