The trip begins by the Genesee River in Rochester

It’s been a while since we’ve visited the JCC up in Rochester… of course it’s been a while since we visited anywhere. Great sound in their tent!

The Busy Bee… walk through that door and you’re in the land time forgot. Good times!

Then up to the Cabot Theater in Massachusetts.

We’ve been here before… it’s a great traditional venue!

Rain was in the offing so the show was moved indoors to the Cabot.

    Jorma and John (and Vanessa!):
    Vol. Two is such a treat. Thank you thank you thank you.
    And I gotta say, out of my hundreds of LPs, the two River Flows albums are about as classy as it gets, from covers to vinyl. Just beautiful.
    See ya Saturday night in Joisey.

    Blue Highway Train??? Must’ve been the brownie I ate for breakfast. Blue Railroad Train, I meant. Way cool, nonetheless.

    @Chris Chester
    There’s one right down the road from me. Organ meats fairly common down south. Taquerias serve lengua (tongue).I’ll eat damned near anything that don’t eat me first EXCEPT liver.

    @jack blind
    And CASH ONLY! Fried egg and cheese on an English muffin will set you back 92 cents. You read that right, 92 cents (I can’t even find a cents symbol on the keypad here). Add an extra large coffee for an additional $1.38. When was anyone last in a restaurant that had liver and onions on the menu? (Not that I care for it, just asking).

    Thank you, and John, for a most enjoyable evening at the JCC in Rochester! Full audience who clearly loved every minute and who no doubt would like to see you there more often, perhaps even as an annual event. (And yeah, the stage set did add to the total experience).

    So, I caught this movie the other day I never heard of made back in ‘76 called “Leadbelly”. Interesting little flick. In one scene he meets up with Blind Lemon Jefferson. Afterwards I consulted the Wikipedia to see what it had to say about Blind Lemon. Lo and behold, it said Jorma’s nickname was Blind Lemon Jefferson and somehow that nickname morphed into Jefferson Airplane (citation 38, I believe). The next citation refuted that claim. Wikipedia has its advantages I suppose, but don’t use self-editing sources for your research papers, kids!

    Way cool to see Blue Highway Train in the rotation. Peace.

      Wrong… The brief nom de blues was:

      Blind Thomas Jefferson Airplane… thanks to Richmond Talbott. I Countered the band’s proposed stupid name selections with my stupid name selection and they took it. The rest is history,literally. Blind Lemon had absolutely nothing to do with it. 🙂

    Wow, great recap of the renewed road trip! Hosting an audience for the Texmaniacs, classes and then hitting the road. Don’t forget a lot of us were loyal viewers at home every Saturday night for the past year too. Saw you at the Birchmere in January and will again Thanksgiving eve. I see David Bromberg’s gig has been replaced by Steve Kimock for the Birchmere. Stuff happens. It’s all good. I hope Hurl is along for the Birchmere gig. Have fun as always!
