Yesterday, Friday the 13th, 2021 was the 56th (if my math is correct) anniversary of Jefferson Airplane’s debut gig at the Matrix on Fillmore St. in San Francisco. Seems like a lifetime ago… wait, it was!
On a much sadder note I was grieved to see that the great artist Nanci Griffith passed yesterday. I remember seeing her and John Prine in Columbus in 1993 or ’94 play a concert. Take a moment and listen to her son, It’s A Hard Life Wherever You go. Sorry about the YouTube ad… but it’s worth the wait.
Fair winds and following seas Nanci!
