Waiting for the ladies to come back from Manhattan…

Back here at the Fur Peace Peace we’re getting ready for a big in-person weekend. Concert Saturday night with Sam Bush and Sunday with Happy Traum and myself. It’s a hot August here in Southeast Ohio but that’s OK.
More in a day or so.
@John R.
You’re right, John. “The tubes’ or “tube,” now more grandly known as the PATH train.
Those days – and nights – were fun. One regret: there are some chords I wish I’d learned back then, BEFORE the arthritis…
@Ed
Thanks for sharing, Ed. That would have been a little before my time, but sounds like Good Times indeed.
We used to ride “The Tubes” (was that it?) from Jersey City to get to the Palladium. I think they ran all night.
Had to come back real quick. Further exploration has landed me on a film called “Harlem Street Singer” – a biography of the Reverend Gary Davis. Starts out with him playing “Death Don’t Have No Mercy”. Seen it, Jorma? I’m bettin’ that’s a stupid question. It’s real good so far. Of course you’ve heard of it. It just showed you taking about him. Cool find.
Couldn’t sleep last night. Whilst surfing the Fire TV, found an app or whatever called Quella – a music/concert film site. Wound up at 4:30 a.m. with Freddie King playing long ago in Europe. I ain’t been back to sleep, but let me tell you, I am happily awake with a spring in my step. I’m here to tell ya, nuthin’ like the Texas Cannonball to “jump”start a day!
Ah Yes indeed In those days would catch 530 am ferry leaving man. still kinda dark out moon was out, to sataten ialand spud be barking at moon, by time we docked at s.i. it would be half light with sun coming. cant forget that g
Jorma
Thanks for stopping by. I thought I was dreaming
Yeah Bart… and thanks for the empanada! See you and yours next time.
@John R.
And that’s true even if it includes an overnight stay at the train station.
When I started going to the Fillmore East in 1969 my friends and I were too young to drive. The shows tended to run a bit long in those days, and missing the last train out of Hoboken meant you’d hang out til around 5 am for the next one. Good times!
You can (almost) never go wrong with a trip to Hoboken.
Did the Hawke make the journey ? We just got back from 3 weeks cruising parks in Florida and Georgia in Harmony, our 27 ft. Class C Coachman. We were greeted by Volume 2 on arrival. Thanks for all the signatures, and of course the great tunes.
