Well… in a perfect world, it would always be like this:

I started to read the drivel in the comments yesterday and I just decided not to let the thoughts that it aroused in me get in the way of playing some good music and actually communicating with friends. I had great time last night listening to Tom Feldmann play and then, joy of joys… playing a set with my good friend John Hurlbut.
Mission accomplished… now back to another reality.
I choose for the most part not to discuss politics. As Abraham Lincoln so wisely said ‘Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and to remove all doubt!’ I’m an independent. I owe allegiance to no party but I will say this: The best thing about Joe Biden is that he is not Donald Trump. OK. If you knew me, I wouldn’t have to say that.
Consider it said.
Get vaccinated, don’t get vaccinated. Get sick, get well… live or die… do what you feel you have to do to stay on this planet. We’re all in the same boat. I don’t want to hear arguments about whose imaginary friend is the most powerful. There was some blather about me telling venues how to handle the Virus. I don’t tell venues I work at how to run their business. That’s their bailiwick not mine. If their standards are congruent with mine (and most are) I’ll take the gig. If not… I drive on. I do tell clients who come to my venue what we require. That’s my business. You don’t like it, don’t come. Over the last day I have read on my own site a lot of (in my opinion) xenophobic, small minded banter from some contributors. They are entitled to their opinion but I am not obligated to give them space. As a father in a bi-racial family I will not tolerate this. You want to spew this nonsense… go somewhere else.
I do not want a discussion and I will not enter into one. I don’t care what you think in your world. Keep it there. If it continues, I will quite simply put an end to it. It’s my sandbox.
I’m done.
It’s been a wonderful weekend here at the Fur Peace Ranch. I’m going to hold that joy close to my heart as I go to bed.
Stay well…
Like you, I am also an Independent as I don’t care to hear from either side of the political spectrum, That being said… I just took my 5 str banjo and my Ovation CE-44SM down to the Luthiers for Spikes under the 5th string on the Banjo and have it set up properly and to have the Ovation set up properly too, a previous owner did some screwy things to it that I need to now get fixed. I’ve had my first Banjo lesson and am loving it, my instructor plays in a group called “The Front Porch”. 3 finger picking on the banjo carries over to guitar fairly easily so my little pea brain doesn’t get confused. In the picture you look as good as I feel in the mornings but, like you, I have a four legged friend that will lick my face in the morning and make me feel all better! Thanks for all that you do Jorma
Here, here Jorma…I went back and read those hateful comments. This no place for that nonsense!! It’s all about the music!!
I’m always sorry to see some people use the comments on Jorma’s blog to advance their own divisive agendas and advertise their own problematic thinking. We should all be glad that he even allows comments, and use this space as it is intended–to express our enthusiasm for Hot Tuna, Jorma and his music, join together to appreciate our brotherhood and sisterhood, and share our knowledge and love of life and music in general.
As Ringo always says, peace and love, Tom L.
Well said Jorma.
@Carlo Pagliano
Oh, but no, Carlo. You may be alliterate, but certainly not illiterate. Your lexicon may be different, but no less infused with delectable adjectives in your striving to convey your feelings of gratitude and admiration of the Captain and crew. It’s good to see you here.
I was wearing an immaculate white shirt, the reason is owed to the fact that i attended live to the Concert at the Fur Peace Station on Saturday night, no matter if in the middle of the night in my studio and alone here in Italy, respect is the idea of respect, one must feel in proper order when to be present at a similar cathartic event, ‘cause Jorma’s gig ain’t just a gig. I love all the respectful members of this page writing their ovation with their words of wonder about the Captain, they always write new and beautiful and creative attributive adjectives that bear substance, adding the fact that the music in the Concert becomes processed by an attentive and devote audience, the real purpose for a man of genius like Jorma, Jorma’s aim. The Concert held on Saturday by Jorma and John Hurlbut, by the way, was robust and sublime in the meantime and the violin I play with my words are not flattering or else ‘cause I’m an illiterate and of a totally different lexicon, that’s why I love the respectful members of this page when they write their brilliant conceit about the Captain. Thank you Jorma, the reason to be still alive.
Carlo! E bello vederte! I have missed your lyric posts. Don’t make yourself so scarce. Ciao.
@Carlo Pagliano
I came home with my shirt all stained and didn’t even eat pizza with bare hands. My screw washer gave up and I just chuck my vest away.
Anyone conscious in late 70’s remembers Cronkite reporting when the CCP, or another nuke capable country, tested a bomb. A day later we saw spectacular sunsets. The troll posting under pseudonyms threw in a bit about China not having nukes. I came across a similar slight of hand on a baseball forum; someone who really had nothing to say about game putting out something I unconsciously knew was false. Here, a lie about said troll’s own worldview; there’s no one who doubts the fact of a nuclear CCP. It’s a way con artists lure victims; something isn’t right and we want to understand. It’s easy picking here; who’s looking over shoulder on this page?
I’ll leave you alone now.
This site is such a source of peace, love and grace. Please don’t abuse it with your invasion of ugliness and divisiveness. Our host deserves better.
I’m so sorry you (and to some extend Vanessa and even Izzie) are coming into contact with this depressing spew. I’m on your team, on your side, and generally sending supportive vibes to you and your fam (about all I can do). Oh, and thanks, especially for the music!
Sending positive vibes from Outer FurPeaceia.
Stay Well
Amen
Thanks Jorma for being a voice of reason in these turbulent times. I have to say that my Saturday nights just ain’t the same without that weekly stream from Fur Peace.
Freddie King really gets me jumping. He wrote this song, “You’ve Got to Love Her With a Feeling”, that’s been looping in my brain the past few days. One verse always makes me grin. “The cops took her in, the woman didn’t need no bail. She wiggled one time for the judge, the judge threw the cops in jail! You’ve got to love her with a feeling…or don’t you love her at all”. If any of ya’ll don’t know Freddie, I recommend you make his acquaintance.”Texas Flyer” and “Living in the Palace of the King” are a couple more favorites. “Italians talk funny, can’t hear a word they say. Can’t find a chitlin pizza, for any price I pay. I’m going back to Dallas, living in the palace of the king.”
Amen brother… I chose to “change the channel” yesterday. Thank you!
Peace…
That photo would be perfect if you were holding a Fur Peace Ranch Coffee mug instead of the blue one. Reasonably priced and available at the company store.
Peace✌🏻️❤️Love All Ways🔥🚲🌹🙏🏻🖖🏼
