Thanks to Mimi Hart!

I met John thirty years ago in the Blue Eagle Music Co. on Court Street in Athens, Ohio. Ethan Greene and J.D. were hanging out by the old pot belly stove and holding court. J.D. was a musical giant and a one of a kind human being. He was also a friend. Before the Pandemic I would go to the Casa Nueva after dropping Izze at school and all of us old music guys would talk and talk… and eat good food!

The last time I saw him I was getting coffee at The Donkey Coffee Shop. It was three months or so ago and the weather still allowed sitting outside and enjoying the day along with a good cup of coffee. Then I heard he was sick. Then I waited too long to visit him. When I finally got around to it, no visitors were allowed. There’s a lesson here.

J.D.Hutchison was one of a kind.

We will all miss him!

    “There’s a lesson here.”
You said it, Jorma. With the river always flowing, plus the pandemic, “Someone’s Calling” has inspired me to pick up the phone and make calls – not just answer it.
Very sorry for the losses of your friends. I was recently at a memorial for a high school pal. Sure makes one reflect.
    Peace.
