Yes friends, July Fourth is right around the corner. In Pre-Pandemic years I probably would have been working somewhere or if home we would have gone to see the fireworks down on the river in Middleport which, in my opinion, is the best display i our area. Athens is OK, but it’s hard to find a good vantage point.

Anyway, in today’s reality we are heading to the Boston are to look a colleges with our daughter who I am realizing more every day is not a kid anymore. With this in mind, Boston is probably a really great place to celebrate the Fourth. It’s been many years since I saw live fireworks in a big city so this could be cool.

Of course I’ll be back in time to do some rehearsing with my pal John Hurlbut. Saturday, July 9 we will be playing a live concert at the Fur Peace Ranch from four to seven PM. There will be lots of good food, music and fellowship here at the good old FPR!

It looks like great summer coming up being part of that July and August Little Feat run.

Now if we can just find a little time for a family RV trip, it will be darn near perfect!

Great to hear about the run with Little Feat. Scott Sharrard is with them now and recall his sets at FPR in 2016 and Funky Feat in 2019. You sat in with Scott and with Funky Feat..memorable shows! I miss Paul Barrere…I think he passed onward a few months after the FPR shows. Have great shows and safe travels.

Enjoy the college check out experience. We found the schools really try hard to make the college experience meaningful. A bit different than 50 years ago, but also a LOT more expensive. Safe travels. We’ll be heading down to FPR next weekend for the show. Our second trip to Meigs County in as many months. Noted Sonny Barger’s passing. Quite a character.

This calls for a Spinal Tap quote:

Ian Faith: The Boston gig has been cancelled…

    David St. Hubbins: What?

Ian Faith: Yeah. I wouldn’t worry about it though, it’s not a big college town.

She said she is a little predujuced as Boston U was her Alma Mater and she also said people get to The Hatch Shell Memorial early and save their seats for the fireworks display or anywhere along the river around there will be great too.
