I bid a fond farewell to home and the family and drove up to Columbus, Ohio to the airport. In a couple of hours I will leave for LA for the Jefferson Airplane Walk Of Fame star. That third floor walkup on Divisadero between Turk and Eddy is way back there in the rear view mirror. Living in the Western Addition for 90 bucks a month back in ’65 was amazing. It was only three block from the Fillmore. Life was a lot simpler then for sure, but somehow it seems to have worked out. Staying alive seems to be a key factor.
Grace, Jack and myself are the only surviving members of that old band. We’ll miss Marty, Paul and Spencer tomorrow, but then I miss them every day.
Life goes on until it doesn’t.
More to come from the City Of Angels.
I’m coo coo for “Kookonen”! Congrats all for an honor well deserved and long overdue.
Congrats JA!
Watched the Walk of Fame. Well done all. Thank you again the tunes, the times, and the fun.
In the middle of a personal hurricane disaster for myself one of my favorite bands got a heartfelt award on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame…Watch Jefferson Airplane at their Hollywood Star ceremony starting at around 13 minutes…(The band was too far out at the time they made their music however now the 80 year old band and its members are too historic to deny)…
Glad to see the vibe is still there in those 80 year old bodies:

JA has always been a star on my horizon. It was a lovely ceremony, and I’d like to visit the spot someday.
What a nice ceremony! The three of you look great congratulations you deserve it
Been a long time Nick… glad we’re all still here… well, some of us anyway!

We hope you have a fun time on the trip and in Hollywood. Say howdy to Grace for all of us old Airplane and Tuna fans. Quite a well-deserved honor!
