In town to look at some colleges with the kid. Fortuitous… it’s the Fourth Of July and the first Big City fireworks display that I’ve had the pleasure to see since I left San Francisco in 1984. Some great new 3D stuff I’d never seen before. Very cool.
That said, I can get closer to the action in Middleport, Ohio. Just sayin’
HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA… Keep them coming!
@Brian Doyle
Good on you, Brian. You might ask directions in town, just to get a smile and it’s down the road…
I’m at a sweet mountaintop campsite in lush Appalachian hardwood forest at Forked Run…Sitting pretty for the Fur Peace Ranch show tomorrow…
Just flew back from NC to California on United, and saw the article on FPR in the July issue. That was a nice surprise! Nicely written first-hand account of the author’s (and his brother’s) weekend. That’s great publicity! For those who might want to see it, it looks like Hemispheres Magazine allows free downloads, but they are a month behind, so June is the latest one available today. Hang in there until next month!
Just caught a cool rendition of When I Paint My Masterpiece on Citizen Ables YouTube feed. John Prine, Larry C on mandolin, Teresa and Amy Helm singing harmonies, Justin on drums and ol’ Garth Hudson playing the accordion. Quite the ensemble.

As I wept to my wife, “When will it stop? ” m
Good that you were not in Highland Park ..What is going on in this crazy world? When will our government ban assault weapons? Enough already…
