As Dorothy would say…

An event free two day drive for Hurl and myself. A swell two weeks down on the gulf, but it’s great to be home. It was still summer when we left and now Fall is here for sure! Thursday last after dinner at the Sundial Hurl and I put on a little show for the folks.

More will be revealed…
Hey Jorma,
Fortunately you and John left just in time to escape the horrific devastation in Florida. Sanibel is cut off from the mainland! My thoughts are with them all!
Stay well!

I’m safe in elevated reinforced concrete above the surge…Ian now 155mph borderline category 5 beast…Doubt the house will withstand it…National Hurricane Center says 18 foot surge will wash over island…
That’s bad news Brian.
I hope you’re ok and I feel sorry for you guys in SW Florida.
Good Luck!!!
It’s coming balls-on…Spent last two days fixing hurricane shutters and bringing tools etc up from the garage…Threw out $300 bucks of food from the fridge…Packed my most save-able belongings in the cars and got them to a surge-safe concrete parking garage…Crossed causeway at 1:30am…Thank God no surge preventing escape…Right now holding at category 3…
@Brian Doyle
Here’s hopin’ the best to you Brian. May your exodus be smooth and orderly, and damage to your property minimal. Looks like the dirty side is gonna get you, I just hope you stay outside the eye wall.
Good chance Sun Dial is about to get trashed…The sea should come over the island with this one…
Packed my Stratocaster 62 re-issue and important items and gettin out of Dodge…
This has a good chance of being the worst hurricane to ever hit Sanibel and its coming right at us…
Jorma wrote many great songs besides In The Kingdom which is also one of my favorites but he wrote so many. I See The Light is another. But my favorite is New Song for the Morning. His early work was a real trip. His songs got very psychedelic in the mid 70s and were out of this world. You had to be there to experience it.
Thank you Jorma for being so kind to me during those years!

never forgotten
RIP
You’ve written some good’uns, Kaukonen. In The Kingdom is song of yours that touches me. I hadn’t much associated your singing with love till spinning that record. Have you ever gigged it with yerself on electric and another on the acoustic? Maybe with Michael, but I don’t recall such.
Of course, you know Dorothy’s other iconic line. “There’s no place like home!”
Welcome Home! Wishing you all a happy and healthy New Year❣🍯🍎
