More will be revealed…
Was fortunate to catch a handful of Jorma / Hurl shows last year was amazed at how good they were. The two of you were flawless and it was nice to watch and hear you pick without the added responsibility of vocals . Not that we don’t enjoy your vocals but you seemed more relaxed and the interplay between you and Hurl was great to watch. I am hopeful that there are plans to return to the Garden State…NY …PA area for some dates with John. Be safe out there and 🙏
I thought I’d share with a sympathetic audience
We watched a DVD last night that was bought ,never viewed and stored.
It was Fairport convention &Mathews southern comfort ( w/steel guitar ), at a local festival in South West England ,kind of a predecessor to Copredy .
The Fairport band at time ( post Sandy Denny), we’re brilliant ,Richard’s pre suffi licks incredible .
Ian Matthews band was better than remembered .
Check it out .
Thanks for sunflower suggestion
Will take that up
Maybe we can blame Nicky Hopkins for that ditty
But
I always liked Meadowlands
Hopefully the people of Russia will pick up the cry
unfortunately it usually winds up like Rod Steiger’s description of the revolution in Sergio Leona’s Duck You Sucker.
When the album came out Russia was a commie dictatorship outlawing dungarees and rock and roll
Since then the dictators became billionaires and the people are still under whatever the fuck they call it.
Also… several days late and a dollar short BRAVO to your comments about picking up the garbage that was left at events. One of the first things I learned at the Rainbow Gathering is happy shit diggers help create a healthy camp.
Plant some extra sunflowers this year for the Ukrainians
Peace✌🏻️❤️Love All Ways🔥🚲🌹🙏🏻🖖🏼 @Greg martelli
I don’t think the “chrome nun “, will be resurrecting Meadowlands from Volunteers.
Although it would probably fly right over the majority.
It piqued me when the album came out .
I felt it inappropriate then & the world can judge today.
Double Slicks at Carnegie Hall, Grace and Mr Aguilar will be joining festivities. Sid Fitch starting forMets today Peace✌🏻️❤️Love All Ways🔥🚲🌹🙏🏻🖖🏼
Lefty didn’t wear no poncho. Pancho. Sheesh.
Poncho and Lefty. Hell, man, that’s worth the price of admission right there. I second Dan’s emotion. Love to watch ya’ll play that one.
@Jorma
Thanks, Jorma.
I think you got a better deal on the ’34 than my pals did on the ’38.
Funny thing – when we were in other cars the cops pulled us over all the time because our hair was so long, you know, the “Let’s hassle some hippies” thing. But in the Buick we were invulnerable. It had an aura.
I used to bump start my ’66 VW beetle in reverse down my driveway,
@Kevin If I understood a comment from the Captain on an earlier post, for the Carnegie Hall show after Burgers he was planning to bring out some of those “old” tunes (Everly Brothers etc.) Captain, Any chance for a livestream ?
A question from out of left field. Anything happening with those old tapes Jack found that you guys talked about during one of his quarantine visits? I’d love to hear that stuff, as I’m sure many others would as well.
Hi Jorma,
I was just prepping for April 22, listening to “Burgers.”
The ’34 Buick always reminds me of the ’38 that two of my friends bought around 1972. Besides the unbeatable awesomeness of just cruising around in it, my two main memories are
1)The inside seemed bigger than my bedroom in the apartment I was living in, and
2)Having a case of oil on hand at all times was de rigueur (especially the day they had to wait in line a while at NJ Motor Vehicle Inspection).
Do you have any especially fond memories of the ’34?
Straight 8 overhead valve inline… two updraft carbs… mechanical brakes… walnut dashes front and rear.. a spare on each front fender… perfect running machine… not a drop of oil. More torque than a John Deere… you could start on a hill in third and not ride the clutch.
See ya in Wilkes Barre !
Hoping for a sit in with Little Feat !
Mr K,
Do you guys test yourselves for for Covid, are just take care and keep on truckin?
What is plan of testing pos?
Different venues have different protocols. We have self administered tests of course and we’ve also had our second boosters. Whatever happens at venues is up to the venues. We’re prepared for almost anything.
Stay positive… test negative. 🙂
Very cool set list. Did Johnny get a new guitar? That old Gibson of his sure sounded great. m
Johnny was playing a Jorma M-30 with a short scale. His Gibson still sounds great though!
My wife and I drove in from Long Island, rented an overnight FPR cabin, and sat front and center for an amazing show… what a treat!
Happy Birthday V………………. and many more
You two sure look like you’re having fun. Cant wait for Land of Hero’s release for RSD in April
