So last night Willie Watson brought his group to our little world here at the Fur Peace Ranch and played a killer show at the Station. I played a short opening set. I;m the house band right now. Here is the set list I started out with… I’m not sure I actually followed it. I didn’t keep track. Anyway…

Back to Willie. With San Schmidt, vocals, guitar and mandolin, Lillian Chase, vocals and fiddle, Ben Gould on bass it was just… well I can’t say enough about the tell these folks brought to us here in Meigs County. Good info here except Lillian on fiddle.

Talking about music is tough and sometimes pointless… sometimes you just have to experience it. I love this show. It really brought it all back home… where it should always be!

This morning over breakfast at the Beatrice Love Kitchen here at the FPR, we had a bona fide hootenanny with my buddy John Hurlbut. Good food, good friends, good music… good times!
Oh, I almost forgot. Scott Siedts who did sound for them. Another kindred spirit!
Don’t miss these folks if they come your way!

Ham: In this dystopian world we’re living in, your sunny-side-up disposition always gives me a lift. Thank you.
Good morning
Love your blogs they’re good for the soul. Keep them coming!
Can’t wait to get back there for a show and breakfast.
And maybe a Sunday morning Hoot if I’m lucky!
But didn’t you get the inspiration for Water Song while napping on it one day?
Peace✌🏻️❤️Love All Ways🔥🚲🌹🙏🏻🖖🏼 @Jorma
The light is strong when Will and Co. bring the old-timies. Got to experience him sing a ballad or two while with Gill & Dave. About as good as it gets and I might be able to catch one of those shows I see on WW site. Donna the Buffalo is playing a finger lakes festival with Willie et al. Reassuring to me as I imagine nice people taking that in, with kidgers during the day, I suppose.
Great show, first time visit and so glad my friend and I had this as our first stop on our trip from CT. It was great to meet John on the phone and then at the gate. We both enjoyed talking with Vanessa too. Willy Watson was not someone I knew but am a fan now.
Thanks again, Eric
@Jorma
Thanks, Jorma. I had a feeling he was the prime suspect…
Kevin – amen! That Edgar tribute album to his brother Johnny is outstanding for sure! And, since you mentioned Michael McDonald, he also sings on new solo album by Jeff “Skunk” Baxter…another incredible album!!!
@eaglesteve If you haven’t yet picked up Edgars’ tribute album to Johnny, DO IT. It is more than fantastic. A true tribute to Johnny’s versatility and song writing ability. I always though “Stranger” could have been a mainstream hit and to hear Michael McDonald sing it just solidifies that feeling. Every cut is a grand slam.
Hi Jorma,
Here’s a weird one.
I was just reading an article about mattresses, and it mentioned the guy who made a water bed and first showed it at an art exhibition in or near San Francisco in 1968, which apparently made it take off.
Article said that Hugh Hefner reportedly got one, Tommy Smothers, and a member of Jefferson Airplane.
Does that ring a bell?
That would have been Paul Kantner… He was always a visionary. 🙂
