Morning frost on the Jeeps…

Yes it was frosty and damn cold this morning, but it is a week or so short of Winter so not much of a surprise. Back home now the last Electric Hot Tuna gigs are in the rear view mirror, but the music continues. This coming Saturday the 16th of December John Hurlbut and I will be playing a free hour set at Vanessa’s shop in Athens, The River Of Time Boutique I always enjoy making music with Johnny. He involves me in a song book landscape that I probably wouldn’t normally venture into as a player. I welcome the diversity that he brings to the table. It introduces me to different perspectives as an artist and always leaves a smile on my face! Stop by Washington St. in Athens right between the Donkey coffee shop and Salaam’s exotic Mediterranean delights!
Enjoying being home for the holidays. A rare occurrence for the Kaukonen family indeed. Being on the road is a totally regimented existence. Each day is mapped out by necessity. Here at home there is always necessary stuff to do, of course… but aside from that the options are almost endless. This is not a complaint, merely an observation.
Vanessa’s sister Ginger just stopped by with a new puppy… Joey a six week old shih tzu dachshund blend… a Shweeny. The big Mav and smaller Perseus are saying in their own way, ‘What’s this little thing doing in our house, and why are you paying attention to him?’
Good morning Joey

And so the day begins… heading out to see what the world has in store for me.
