Today was a ‘day off,’ which in our world means driving six or seven hours to the next town… in this case Ithaca. Here’s a couple of more shots from the Flynn.

Jack holds sway in his domain!
And then after our ‘day off,’ Jack and I walked about town in search of sustenance.

Time to work on the set list for tomorrow!
Got tixx for Saturday at the Beacon and next wed. In Bew Haven. Heightened anticipation!!!
Gracias, Senor (I don’t know how to do a digital tilde).
Any good deals on adults?
So looking forward to the Beacon! Celebrated your 70th there in 2010, and the day after the Beacon is my 70th. Sorry to say I won’t have any cool posters with me about my big day! But I still have the one I got at the Beacon that night, and a few more as well!!! Treasures one and all!
Jorma, I can only hope you are recording some of these shows for future release. Great setlists, and the last chance to document some of these wonderful songs in full electric mode.
Had hoped to get to the Ithaca show with thought of seeing the area topography and an intuition there would be a warm crowd (albeit sparse, I gather). Area folks transplanted downstate have struck me as sound, with dispositions of those who have been on their land for umpteen generations. I believe they’ve been there since after the colonies gained independence. Who’s that dirty old man standing next to Casady?
Youz gize….
Well, glory be! I just heard the only other version for me other than Jorma’s “Nobody Knows When You’re Down and Out” by a man named Scrapper Blackwell. Another first, as I’m not familiar with him. Music’s fun!
Get the Leroy Carr & Scrapper Blackwell album Blues Before Sunrise. btw Nobody Knows You When You’re Down & Out is a blues standard by pianist Jimmie Cox.
