Sunrise in Ohio

Sunrise in Southeast Ohio…

It looks pretty, but the sun looking like this first thing in the morning is not good news for any of us. Hopefully this acrid smoke will dissipate or go elsewhere in the near future, but… I’m literally not holding my breath, although I probably should be.

More will be revealed…

I’m an ever optimist, but realistically, this is gonna get worse before it gets any better.
Vote for people who care about regulation in a real way.

I am a radical ecologist (not to be confused with a tree spiker). Six million acres burning in Nova Scotia? That ain’t normal, folks. Anyone remember acid rain? The polluters fought regulation, but regulation brought an end to the problem. If industry can affect climatic events regionally, it’s not much of a stretch to believe it is possible to affect it globally. Climate change is not just a CO2 problem. Natural habitat destruction reduces the planet’s ability to heal itself in a way that preserves us. We could greatly reduce coastal wetland destruction if FEMA didn’t essentially subsidize the investor’s risk of loss from flood/wind, just as one example. This is not a call to eliminate FEMA, just change the way it manages risks. I hope we get a hold of the right decision makers before it’s too late.

Climate change don’t have no mercy on this planet.
Bad enough for those of us already in the Medicare demographic; almost unthinkable what lies ahead for my 1-year-old grand-nephew.
Apologies for mounting the soapbox, but please vote for people who take this seriously.
    Thanks.

I drove from the Atlantic City area to Manhasset NY. Long Island area to do some work on my sons house. My ride North started with a lightly smoke haze. As I approached the NYC area it turned to dense smoke with very bad visibility. When I left after 8pm to head South the smoke was even worse going on LIE. You couldn’t see the Verrazzano bridge until driving up to it. The whole ride South was dense smoke.
As of this morning in South Jersey its still bad
