The Fur Peace Station from the air by Jorma Kaukonen
It was a beautiful fall day for the last gig at the Fur Peace Station featuring John Hurlbut and myself. We had really been looking forward to this one although it was a little bittersweet being the last show of 2023 at the Ranch. Time is slipping through our fingers at an alarming rate and each moment, good or bad, is worth remembering.

The mighty Shade River approaches the Ranch as seen from Jorma’s drone.
Was a truly great way to spend a lovely Sunday afternoon into the evening.
Every day is day closer to Spring.
Stay well all!
Great drones shots Jorma, pilot lessons going well, did a great (and not so great) landing the other day – Shade river looks so cool from up there – Glad the sets went well, enjoy each day, just went to a wake for Judge Hunt from Shawangunk, only 74, but he travelled, went to concerts, everything. Each day’s a gift and we are blessed to have your music to help us through the tough times – all the best –
Scarcity increases value. As young people, time seems boundless, hence the propensity of youth to waste it to some degree. A few months shy of 70, I would go so far as to say each moment is not worth not only remembering, but savoring as well – good or bad.
I see they the trees in southeastern Ohio are pretty much denuded. I stumbled into a little hidden creek bottom about an hour north of me last week. There I found a small stand of red maple, hickory and beech that would rival the reds, yellows and golds of the northeast. A moment to savor sure enough, cher.
Do you a license to fly that thing so high???
Cool pics.
I don’t see someone’s calling .. love that tune… first time I heard it I was nearly in tears…. Shhhhh don’t tell anyone it will wreck my image!!
Oops it’s there
“All of Me” was a pretty awesome selection. Thanks so much for doing the show.
And yeah, that time thing…Heavy, especially as the daylight dwindles, but I try to stay on the sunny side of the street.
Only 5.5 weeks til the days start getting longer!
Always interesting to see John’s influence
Pride of Man ,People get Ready ,Ballad of easy rider.
Great stuff
If you’re ever in a mood for a super percussive jolt ( you don’t need the coffee ), listen to Curtis Mayfields extended version of “Move on up “.It will get you up.
Is the performance available to view ?
What’s the approximate elevation of the last drone shot ?
Enjoy these beautiful days ,frost in Am ,65* in PM

Thanks for the gift of music
Magic was made…..
WOw, that is quite a set list. And it’s not like one can simply pull that out of one’s nether regions without a good bit of very hard work.
Gorgeous photos what a dream place!
After 3 weeks in Spain, with just Cafe Americano (expresso and hot water) there is nothing like a good cup of dark roast black coffee. Glad to catch the replay, Thanks guys
