Our daughter was not even born yet. My son was pushing four.
They have no memory of this event.
But we do… and we shall never forget.

Jorma you were plagiarized by Jimmy Buffet. He said “getting old ain’t for sissies” too last month and he was right. He died last week in Sag Harbor, Long Island of a rare skin cancer. Always wear a hat!

All in good fun, but let’s be careful before calling someone out for plagiarism, especially someone who just died.
It’s been 50 years or more since I first saw a needlepoint pillow my grandmother made that said “Old Age Is Not for Sissies.”
Let me state for the record that Jorma did not plagiarize her.
‘Getting old ain’t for sissies’ is hardly original. My grandfather used to say it a lifetime ago, 🙂
Reportedly the actress Bette Davis had a pillow with that saying on it,too. Can’t help but think it’s just an old saw used by many over the generations
to describe what all of us lucky enough to reach ‘advanced years’ go through.
